There's that word again... "Heavy".

Why are things so heavy in the future?

Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?

Die cast, rubber jacket, DX Marty McFly so that he can rust, melt, AND have a screwy likeness. $500 so he is sufficiently overpriced. Claim it is hand-painted head, but really do it with machines. Brittle knee joints are a must. And like Indy, give him a horribly inappropriate body. Get R Done, Hot Toys.

Uh, duh, they're waiting for 2015, of course.

:exactly:
Exactamundo.

This is happening.

The children of the 80s have aged into the 30 & 40-year-olds of today.

1955 . . . 1985 . . . 2015

Capacitors will be fluxing . . .and soon.

The marketing spring tide will be just too massive to deny.

:joy

Not in HT eyes. All they see is Iron Man. Howard pretty much is putting all projects on hold while they cash in on IM figures.

If they don't even make 2015 with these that will be a real shame from HT. I'm sure sooner would be preferred by fans but if there has to be a delay 2015 should be the year because of that BTTF2 connection.

*realises Avengers 2 is supposed to be out that year*

OK scrap that, this line aint happening.

LOL Yeah, I think some folks are still in the optimistic stage, and in "denial" over the fact that 90% of non Iron Man/Batman license are gonna be given the short shrift if not dropped altogether. But the writing is on the wall--3 more Iron Men announced just the other day. Your "acceptance" shows real maturity a-dev. :lol

Seriously though, its not like HT won't make money off of marvel regardless. They could literally have an off-shoot company that ONLY does marvel figures (It's not like there isn't going to be a tone of Marvel movies in the next 5 years!)... so i don't see why they cant do both?! Add more fringe rpojects... the Marvel stuff is sure bet cash money.

Well it's just good business, right? They could have an offshoot company, or spend a fraction of their efforts on lesser properties. But when the return is itself a fraction of what Marvel gives them, why waste their energies at all in that direction? I was hoping that Enterbay would step up and handle some of those lesser properties, but the fact that they have so many QC issues and just don't have products that feel like HT products do from a quality point of view makes me hesitate.

Not a coincidence that I spend about 80% of my time on the board in the custom section nowadays.

HT probably doesn't want to expand their empire; therefore, they are allocating all resources to IM/Marvel products for the time being. Why make niche figures that only appeal to some when they can mass produce IM merchandise that appeals to the masses (I not being a part of that mass :lol) running on the same overhead costs, maximizing profits.

:lol Nah I've been anything but mature really. And I'd be far less so again if not for the 1:4 endoskeleton and DX13.

NOBODY is ever content with what they have. Don Draper (pretty much my Favorite character of the last decade) said it best; "What's happiness?! The moment right before you want more happiness!" Hot Toys has been steadily growing and producing more and more figures every year... why let small companies eat into their sales when they could own the market. "I don't want 50% of something. I want 100% of everything!" -DOn Draper. ;)

In an interview Hot Toys have on their facebook page with a couple of big wigs from Marvel the interview end like this

"Also when will we see the Back to the Future figures? Very excited for those!"

No reply

Even the Marvel guys want to see other figures than just Marvel figures :rotfl

I'm surprised HT even printed that! LOL. They must of messed up. "No, no, no.... HELLL NOOOO! All Marvel all the time!"

For the majority of that interview, I was shaking my head and repeating "Nonononononononono" to myself, but when they threw in the BTTF shout-out, I thought, "Kevin Feige, respect." First of all, when the head of Marvel Studios wants to see something other than Marvel, that says something. Second, he showed he knows his ****. BTTF wasn't really announced other than in the back of that book and in a few non-official interviews.

Maybe he has been bit by the 1/6 bug and wants to see a quality BTTF figure as much as we do.

Asking HT to throw him a bone and add to his collection.
