I've started to give that a go. Because why not. I'll hopefully post it tomorrow night for inspection here.

Having trouble making a decision on the Sunglasses. Which of these is at least on the right track even if not yet as accurate as you think it could be?

- The first image is the last one I posted here which you've already seen, I repeat it here for comparison purposes
- the second image is that again but the top outer corners of the glasses angled downwards more
- the third image again has the top outer corners angled down but the glasses are now also made smaller

I just want to know which of the second two images is the one to go with and continue working on - in either case I still would want to redo the 'shoulder' parts of the sunglasses where there is a lack of clarity and they're excessively angled/pointy and maybe I'll also narrow the arms. And I would definitely want to perform a general cleanup of the flesh and eyebrow areas near the sunglasses alterations which are looking a bit smudgy now.

So these aren't finished. Don't go posting them anywhere.

But did you do the thing where you save them and cycle back and forth in your photo browser? Or indeed in Paint? Cos' yeah it's hard to see the changes otherwise.

It’s hard to explain without a proper illustration but the top of the frames have more of a gradual curve downwards and they’re too short lengthwise in the third picture but I like the overall size of them in that one more.

They're an absolute bugger if I'm honest. Fixing his face was much easier.
Yeah, to be honest small adjustments to either pic should work buddy, so just pick the one you like best and go for it. I’m thinking 2, but you could easily stick with 1 and be fine. Something about 3 seems off to me, but I like the idea of going a tad smaller with the frames overall. Hopefully, somebody can do the flashing overlay thing, so we can see better.

I think an issue with the glasses is they don't look like they wrap around (hug) his face above the cheek bones enough, maybe.

Didn't this film kick off the look of wrap around sunglasses or where they a thing before then?

@a-dev I think the apex of the curve at the top of each lens should be closer to the nose. In other words, the glasses should start sloping down closer to the nose.

If we could do that with the slightly smaller size of 3, it would be absolute perfection IMO.

I wondered that myself but then I'd be obscuring the eyebrows more than they are in the reference pic. Which makes me wonder did I lift the nose bridge part too high. Ugghh......

It could be that I'm misinterpreting the lighting on the sunglasses, that the actual external shape I've got isn't a million miles from what it should be but I've misunderstood the 'internal' lighting where I'm mixing up what the front surface is and what the top surface is etc. In so doing I've managed to make the frames look less curvy than they should be.

This will be of no interest to anyone who just wants to talk about and be excited for the figure, I apologize.

Don’t apologise mate! You’re definitely bringing up some really interesting stuff. I just wish Hot Toys took a page out your book because you’re honestly putting them to shame with your edits

The issue is the curve is too steep on the proto shades, your edit over compensated making it not have any curve. The frames and lenses themselves also should be wider than they are tall. The simple fix to this is to just have Jon make you a pair, a company won't produce them accurately of any genuine quality.
