Hot Toys - Batman 1966 Live-action TV Series - Batmobile

Honestly, I don't give a ****. I'd take Beauty and The Beast over another ****ing shellhead or Stormtrooper. I just hope that, if they are doing it, they don't just act like ********* and make Emma Watson in a dress, when you have a pretty visually interesting design that can translate well to 1/6th in Beast, but knowing HT, nothing is certain. ****, look at Tomorrowland and Prometheus. Hell, look at this! They have so many licenses that they probably don't do **** with. I just want the car and some villains.

I agree. Seems like the Beast is the obvious choice here for 1/6th treatment.

You can't tell me they are going to sell a ton of these compared to Romero Joker. Maleficent took a while to sell out and can't imagine there was many produced. They could re release a few ward and west with Romero Joker and a batgirl or Newmar Catwoman. I guarantee they would all sell very well. Just commit to this line.

I can't see how these would not sell. And the buzz would be amazing. Disney has a HUGE fan base that spends some coin, but a Hot Toys figure? Maybe it will maybe it won't. Perhaps some good news from this weekend's New York Toy Fair??

As for the Batmobile, wasn't there any math employed beforehand? A batmobile costs X dollars to make, we'd have to sell at X dollars to make a profit. Is it worth it?

Disney collectors tend to gravitate towards the dolls. They make 17" and 12" collector dolls. I have two daughter's who collect Disney. It all depends on how well the movie does. Most Disney collectors gravitate towards the cartoon dolls imo. Live action dolls slower sellers compared to their cartoon counterparts imo.

My own daughter (21) is a bonafide Disney nut. She buys Funkos, purses, and shirts. We've dropped over $200 for a Kate Spade Minnie purse for her, she'd never pay $200+ for Hot Toys anything. I can only assume Hot Toys has done their due diligence to sound the market for such things. To me, at first blush, a target audience for a high end Hot Toys Belle doll seems as niche as Batman 66. Although I could be wrong. But to cancel a Batmobile they've shown the world? That's embarrassing.

They've released pretty expensive figures for Disney before, and they've sold out really quick. Disney fans are nuts. Beauty and the Beast fans are above average for nuts. I'd expect this to sell just fine.

Not that, uh, I don't want Romero Joker too. But this isn't on the same level as teapot Stormtrooper.

I wasn't sold on the Funko line, and then I saw this picture. That's Batman from the test screenings! And BOTH Mr. Freezes. Pretty awesome, and a good sign of an extensive line, especially considering how none of the main bad guys made it into this wave.

Funko's non-Pop figures don't really appeal to me (and to be honest, neither do most of their Pops) but it IS nice to see someone still making Batman '66 merchandise.

I actually did email that Hot Toys Customer Service email they put up for information about bootlegs about this, and I was surprised that they did respond to me. They said it was released several years ago and there were no plans to reissue it. I'm not sure if it was lost in translation and the language barrier prevented them from getting that I wasn't talking about the '89 car, or if they were purposely ****ing with me. I'm leaning towards the latter.

A bit off topic but the original Ideal molds to the 1966 Batman Utility Belt, helmet, JLA playset, Captain Action, and Marx molds were leased to a Mexican toy company.
Not sure yet what or when or if they will reissue. Was told it will probably appear suddenly in cheap toy bins. But I'm interested because they are from the original molds.
