They say:

"* We won't mark "Gift" or undervalue your items with shipping documents."

Is this the kind of thing that the receiver has to pay import taxes on, or do they (as the sender) have to worry about it? And if the receiver does, how does that work?

The buyer have to pay for the import fee if the US customs decides to tax your package.. Anyone know how much the import fee would be if they tax you for $250 value + shipping?

But how does that work, exactly? Does the mailman ask you to pay him before he delivers the package or what?

Has anybody successfully oredered this set from that site yet? I only ask because I noticed a disclaimer on their site saying:
Please note that most of our commodities are in principle manufactured for the Japanese domestic market.
Some items are strictly for sale and use in Japan only.
If your order happens to include one(s) that cannot be sold overseas, the sale will be automatically cancelled and you will be notified.

I just paid for mine. Total was $283 (including shipping, using EMS option)

I'm assuming if they couldn't ship it to me, they wouldn't have sent me this secondary email, which is the order confirmation email.

I'll let you know if things change...Should you wish to know.

No

You get a card delivered to you that notifies you that there is a package that has been held for you by customs, they then ask you to provide details of what it is and what it's value is, with a receipt to back it up

They will then charge you a fee based on the value and a handling fee for processing

You can then either set a new delivery date after payment is made, or pick it up from the depot where it is held

Pain in the ass and thankfully I've only had to go through it once - but that's the only thing holding me back from picking up another set ST this price! You could end up paying upwards of £50 in fees for this value and then you question if it's really worth it

If I didn't have one already I'd certainly go for it but as a second set (of which I only want a second scarecrow) I'll pass

FYI, I e-mailed them about shipping cost, and apparently it will cost almost $80 to get shipped to my place in the U.S.

$280 is still a great deal for this, but not a good enough deal for me to pick it up as a spare.

I bought Friend and this set from them. My roommate told me they came this week... but I'm away from home atm (in scorching hot japan!!). I got the figures though, so I don't think any of you guys have to worry if you ordered.

If I bought this set I would then have 1 Demon and 2 Scarecrows. I could display Scarecrow both ways and sell my bash. Hmm...
