Scarecrow looks better than in that earlier shot, but still, no Murphy sculpt, no accessories? At least a briefcase or something. And personally, the demon Bats is not something I'd want to look at all the time. Unless I can snag some Scarecrow bits on ebay, which I'm guessing won't be likely, this is a complete pass for me.

Just looked at this shot. Am I the only one who thinks they put the knot of the corde too far to the left? Its not supposed to be in the middle but...

Not sure why people are so surprised at the lack of acccessories.

It is a two figure set so was bound to be minimal.

..yes but a 2-figure set with each figure in the vicinity of 175 bucks?

I say again... 175 bucks? And minimal doesn't even cut it in describing the dearth of goodies in this pack.

I wouldnt have posed them with goodies anyway. Dont care about the batarang or the mobile. Only thing I would have liked was a gas tool for Scarecrow but I can live without that. If I really want it, it is a very easy custom and there are plenty of briefcases out there. However a briefcase makes no sense without a Cillian Murphy sculpt... :lol

Interesting that HT chose to release these as a twin-pack though... they didn't think each figure on its own had enough pull? They thought it was a good pairing re: the film? They were out of accessory options and thought a pairing would offset that? Judging by the number of people who would buy the scarecrow on its own, or would purchase the pack mostly to get hold of the scarecrow, I wonder if this was a good call by HT - and whether there'll be more after-market Demon Bats doing the rounds in January than there will be scarecrows...

I believe many people will change their mind of selling Demon Bats when they have the 2-pack in hand. This fig might be the weaker character of the 2 but judging from the pics it is the better figure. (and a nice accessoire for Scarecrow :lol )

Why wont Hot Toys fix the speed of their site? months and months it's been as slow as dial up. It never gets better.

Not exactly their most mindblowing release is it. The lack of CM headsculpt is disappointing and he doesn't even have his fear-gas spray thingie?? Not great. Still the completist in me won't allow me to pass on this.

Often yes, but they will be rewarded contractually for the right to do so, and so when the licensor then sells the rights to use the character and or actors likeness, there will most likely be a sliding scale of 'value' on how and where it's used.
It's why some companies get a great deal if they are doing a huge press campaign for an endorsed product, if it is raising the profile of the source material it is seen as viral marketing for the movie itself. The more desirable the 'lifestyle' product, the better the deal for all concerned.
Sadly 1/6th scale figure collecting is still very much a specialised and niche market... upshot, no Cillian h/s.

Thanks for this bit of info Wookster! This could really be a licensing issue then :)

Their asking price is kind of steep with the lack of HS and other accessories, though :(

So will this only be available at the expo in Tokyo or is there still the one batch that will be available to their licensed vendors?

The lack of Cillian Murphy headsculpt doesn't bother me, the lack of accessories does.

I'm not talking accessories in quantities like the latest T-1000, but give us something other than a stand for each figure.

These seem like rushed figures Hot Toys threw together on a whim. There were little things that they could have included to make this feel a little more, I don't know, legitimate.

They couldn't give the Scarecrow an alternate pair of dress shoes? I know for a fact he didn't run around the entire film in those Asylum boots. How about that sweater vest he was always wearing in Begins? Nope. All Hot Toys did was put that fantastic Scarecrow head on a random suited body. There's not a single scene where he looks like that in the film/films.

Hot Toys are masters of accuracy for the most part, but they didn't even bother with Scarecrow. I mean, yeah he's just a "guy in a suit" but throw something more special into this thing so I feel better about giving you my money.

Would a brief case with files and paper work, a clip on gas harness and pump, a pair of dress shoes and a sweater vest have been that hard for them to give this bare-bones figure? I don't think so.

Ghoul Batman is growing on me, but it really only looks good when you see it from it's profile. They took way too many creative liberties on the head, especially with the ears (those are really awkward, almost like honey combs. It distracts from the portrait). It would have benefited the figure greatly if they made the Ghoul's face more rounded and less gaunt.

He looked like a big damn beast that was ready to eat your face not a starving witch on crack.

Absolutely devestated that there is no cillian murphy HS, this would have been my grail piece and i've waited all this time for a scarecrow from hot toys and they leave out the head sculpt.
seriously how hard would it have been to do an extra HS when they have done 5 different joker HS's, now i loved the joker but come on, and if it was a license issue then surely it cant have been that hard to get a license for cillian's likeness.

I say I'll get this because I'm a completist but actually I suppose if its exclusivity prevents me from getting it I won't really be hugely broken up about it.
