I am a little weirded out by the closeup pics that appeared to have some sprayed-on coating (under the dust). I sold my OC a while ago but I never got the impression that the rubber was painted or coated at all. Could it be some kind of release agent from the molding process? I am totally ignorant as to how these things are made.

Yeah, mine doesn't have that paint or "texturing" at all. It's just a black rubber suit, no paint, coats, nothing. Maybe this Toy Fairs version has it, who knows.

Here's my OC,

Displaying this figure in this pose would be a bad, bad idea... A standing position with the arms to the figures side is the way to go, unless you want to suddenly find a tear in suit around areas that are being stressed from that pose (front of shoulders, elbows).

Thanks, but i'll take my chances. I bought this because of the posing options. It appears to me that their is plenty of wiggle room in the suit. The suit is going to rot anyway in time (hell, it may be rotting right now), so why not really enjoy it for the limited time it has on this rock? Besides, that pose isn't all that extreme IMO as long as you do it once and leave it. We shall see.:)

It's not the continual posing, but the creasing and stretching of the suit that'll lead to it tearing faster. :lol

Glad this thread is back up! I have been thinking about canceling my pre-order. Here are some other damage reports:

There is, or at least I assume it to be like the OC version, lots of room in the suit to get all kinds of cool poses. Many things a TT can do this figure can do except where the suit prohibits it, but some of those poses will not look right due to the rubber suit bunching up... It's not like cloth where you can futz things to look right.

Still, more power to you in posing your figure. As long as you enjoy the hell out of it that's all that matters. :hi5:

Maybe..maybe not? Everything is dying Nam. I think one of the biggest mistakes the doll collectors make is thinking any of these things will look the same in 5-10-20-30 years. We may or may not even be into this stuff anymore by that time issues start. Like I said, We'll see.:wink1:

It's not a matter of "maybe..maybe not." It IS the reason. :lol

For the record, I'm worried about it too (had a leaky DX 02 and sent it back for a refund), but I'll be goddamed if I'm gonna cancel based on pics of a dustyassed figure with paint rub, a transvestite's pics of Batman's glistening buttocks or a figure so abused by posing beyond the suit's limitations that it's falling apart. When there's concrete reason for concern, I'll be more than happy to hit the cancel button and support like members who do so.

Oh my god! The amount of pages since I posted last night.

Anyway, I still don't understand how people can call these toys. Toys are robust. Toys don't fall apart after it's been handled a few times. Some of these figures are nearly as fragile as model ships the way some collectors handle them. Then the amount of posts I've read about broken accessories... stands, necks, knees, elbows, wrists, legs, arms, hand pegs, foot pegs and so on. There's been too many forums I've read that there hasn't been a thing broken. If not more than once by the same person.

Bought this for the Bale sculpt mainly, and to pose the suit like in the movie poster (covered by the cape) so the rubber can melt like effin' ice cream for all I care because the fig will be covered up anyway. Still, not too worried about that.
