Man, you're a buzzkill. :lol

It's a pun, a joke about the rubber Batsuits not lasting. You know how food expires, the expiration date? With all the suit deterioration, these Batman figures aren't much different. I got it instantly and thought it was pretty clever.

I feel like I ruined it by having to explain it but it is a good one.

:lol:lol:lol

This is the worst I've ever seen the OC Batman figure (not mine),

Holy ____! NOW THAT'S BAD! I really feel for the owner.

I doubt acrylic would have a negative reaction with the rubbber. But I would be afraid of using enamel or laquer based paints.

What I think would be the problem is getting the acrylic paint to actually stay on. In my experience that type of paint won't adhere well to rubber.

Why are people even assuming this paint rub thing is going to be an issue? :dunno

Go back and look at the pics and all the ____ing dust that's covering the figure. How do you know that "peeling" paint isn't a result of him attempting to scrub the dust off the rubber suit?

I can't think of a better kind of paint for it though...

if nothing else, i would paint the bat black along with the boots to give it more of a comic look

I agree with you, there doesn't seem to be any evidence this is a QC problem. I suspect the paint is somewhat delicate and any excessive force could thin it out exposing the shinier rubber beneath.

However I can understand why some might be worried given the record HT's has with their QC.

Yeah for the rubber suit acrylic would be the only way to go. If you thin it make sure to use water and not isopropyl alcohol. I was considering giving the bat symbol a slight satin sheen myself but have decided against it. I'm still considering painting the gauntlets and boots to be a little shiny tho.

Someone has been playing with their figures A LOT. That's like the only OC bats I've seen with such faded looking textures.

Generally the OC has held up quite well. There's no telling what people do to these things. I bought a used one off Ebay that looked good in the pics. When I received the figure there was some kind of film on the suit. I emailed the seller and he told me he wipes all of his figures down with Wet Wipes before he ships. I don't say that to make fun of the guy but the fact is some people think they are taking excellent care of their figures when in fact they may be causing the damage.

:horror:slap
Jissis. I'm almost afraid to even handle my figs with my bare hands, let alone wipe them down with a Wet Wipe. I won't lie, the single reason I joined this forum initially was to get good advice on maintenance and upkeep on my figs. But now I've been sucked in by things like "fun" and "discussion." I have no worries about this costume. Just handle with care, as this is not a toy, and it should be fine.

Unless there's a manufacturing issue that causes problems, as was the case with DX02. Oh, and btw, these are toys. The company that makes them is even called Hot Toys.
