I'm guessing that if anyone is interested in the license, there might be additional hang-ups with the Fox and Disney merger. Plus with Cameron owning the IP itself, might complicate things.

Yeah the merchandise might be in licensing hell. As mentioned, disney, fox, cameron, the owner/s of the original manga maybe even the creator... it could be a mine field of conditions and percentages etc

Not to mention WETA, which is strange since they worked on the movie. They made a few Ghost in the Shell statues, yet they didn't announce anything for Alita. All we got from them were some weird looking vinyl toys and a replica Damascus blade.

Imagine how cool it would've been if HT made the same lineup as those vinyl figures, I was really hoping for at least a Dr. Ido since they made Christoph Waltz before lol

Man I hope this figure doesn't end up getting canceled. I've been waiting too long for this figure to be released. I do hope we hear something in the next few months. Possibly a release in Hong Kong and then release in the US.

Are you new to Hot Toys? They've never canceled a figure after it went up for pre-order.

It won't be cancelled, but looks like it will be delayed. My supplier had an ETA for October and yet they are always a month or more behind the HK release. No way it will arrive in October.
