I really loved the movie. I love affleck and yes, im one of those, told you so guys. I knew he would be money. The direction is fine, its the execution. Keep in mind, snyders had to fill the movie up to set up all the forthcoming sagas and characters, he was in a no win situation. He did the best he could. I hated the pacing and i hated lex, everything else i liked just fine. I look forward to adding this figure to my collection.
A no win situation?.. I don't believe that. There's a good movie in there somewhere. A lot of the mistakes were easily correctable.. First, don't hire jesse eisenberg, cut the film better, some sunlight would've been nice, maybe have more than 2 jokes or lighthearted moments, change the reason batman and superman came to an understanding..
Yes, he needed to set up a universe.. But the way he did it seemed so unnatural and forced.. I should also note that I blame the writers as well.
I feel like they looked at marvel and thought that they needed to catch up or something. With marvel.. We had end credit scenes that helped set things up.. There was more of a build up to all of their characters coming together. I think that's what's missing with these movies, they tried to jump into the deep end almost right away.
It's not an atrocious movie by any means, it just could've been better.
I do enjoy the designs of the suits though.. I was skeptical of the batsuit at first, but I think it worked very well. The armored suit looked great and I really liked the knightmare suit. I too thought affleck would do a good job, which he did.. But I still think he was a little one-note throughout the entire movie (which wasn't his fault).
Sorry, I didn't want to drudge this up again. And sorry for being a "self-important nerd" with a "garbage opinion".. I guess passion means someone feels "self-important".. Sort of like belittling someone else because they don't share your opinion
