This is the first time I have ever felt this about a mass produced figure but there really is a sense of big-headedness and showing off from some of those that have bought this. The fact that it has become so rare and expensive has lead people to develop a superiority complex which this hobby really does not need.

There's one member that paid HK prices for it and just sold it for retail.

I had this on flex....used the pay option to clear last payment but still haven't got an email to say when it will ship....I know a lot of people said there getting notifications so I phoned SS and I was told it wasn't in stock and they didn't know when it would be:dunno
Am I missing something here.

I haven't seen any of this behavior myself, but do you mean just by virtue of people showing/sharing pictures of the figure they are exhibiting this behavior, or are they actually making snarky comments?

It it's just sharing pictures, I don't see how that's being smug or arrogant and rubbing it in others' faces who weren't able to get the figure. People always share pictures of their figures when they start receiving them. If individuals who weren't able to obtain the figure interpret people simply sharing pictures as being smug or arrogant, I personally think that's more the issue of the people who weren't able to get it because they see the pictures of others serving as a reminder to themselves that they weren't able to secure one and therefore, don't want anyone reminding them of that. Don't see why sharing pictures should be condemned just because the people who were unfortunately unable get a figure don't want to be reminded of the fact they weren't able to get one.

If there are people who are making snarky comments about receiving one, then yes, that is unnecessary.

I think he means those that have multiples, and it seems to bother him for some reason.

Personally, I couldn't care less how one spends their $$$, although it's funny some times (like the guy paying out of the ass for one, and then selling it at basically retail)

All I care is that I'm getting one. And that I didn't pay out of the ass.

Retail baby. Retail.

My sentiments as well.

The only thing I generally really ever find smug are the people who pay up the ass for a figure just so they can brag to the rest of the forum that they got theirs early. Not by just simply sharing pictures, but actually bragging. However, I usually just laugh at that because if they were willing to pay the extra money just to say that, then more power to them.

I don't mind waiting 4-6 more weeks after already having waited 4-6 months.

This comment has me seriously confused. So you paid it off, and they said they didnt know when it will be instock?

Yes....I had one payment left on flex...used the pay now option....gave SS a ring to see what was going on after a week and was told item not in stock....and as I said they said not sure when it would be.

Sometimes, it depends on the way it's perceived too. The person isn't necessarily showing off but the fact that the viewer does not have that item will evoke certain feelings....

Even if I laugh at the idea of spending more than double to get a figure a month or two early, if you can afford that then it's obviously your business. I wouldn't want anyone saying what I can or cannot spend my money on.

I personally don't mind the waiting much. It's part of this hobby.

Ok I missed a few things... someone is complaining about people sharing photos of this photo saying people are being egotistical for showing the figure that is sold out?

That is some failed logic.

Sorry - I meant a lot of what I've seen on Facebook in the One Sixth groups. Don't start getting your
knickers twisted THERE lad and attacking my failed logic - I wouldn't want that.

Edit - Phew. Hopefully nobody noticed.

I think you meant "there." It's ok, being unclear and making general statements completely excused your failed logic and grammar.

Anyhow, back on topic... I ordered two of these- standard and the two pack exclusive. Interestingly enough I only received the e-Mail for the two pack version. Anyone else having this issue?

Oh no of course. If they can afford it and are willing to pay the extra price just so they can have a figure 4-6 weeks earlier than everyone else then more power to them. They're free to spend their money however they please, just as I am. The only ones I laugh at are just the ones who gloat by actually making comments about it to rub it in everyone else's faces that they have theirs first, not simply by sharing their figure with everyone via pictures.

Personally, even if I could afford it, it's just impractical to me. If I've already waited 4-6 months (sometimes more) for a figure, I can stand to wait another mere 4-6 more weeks (sometimes less) for it and save myself $100 plus.

Exactly. That extra $100 can go to another purchase. But perhaps for others the pride of having it first might be worth the $100. Regardless its your money.

I think buying 5 of 1 figure is hilarious even though some of my favorite posters do so even outside the Batman thread here. Personally i'd rather re-pose 1 figure every few months or whatever because that is why they are called "action figures" and allot funds for other figures for variety. I find 1 subject collections and multiples boring. (unless it is a army builder)

But hey, that's just me. You do what you want with your cash.

Five, to me, is wacky. I've had two before when I do different display set ups or want one for my office... but five? Yeah, throw your cash at what you want but that is roughly $1,200 on one version of a figure.

I think people that buy ridiculous multiples are out there to resell considering the asking price of these figures.

Its just some random internet guy saying whatever they do with their figures but who knows if that's really the case to not look like a scalper.
