It’s hard to see any possible way Hot Toys could beat Inart’s offering. It genuinely looks perfect.

Plus InArt’s Superman includes all the accessories you could possibly need with a BvS Superman: the spear, Batman’s cowl, alternate (uniquely sculpted) hands, a heat vision head, the big chunk of kryptonite, the smoke grenade Batman shoots at him, and even the polaroids of Martha. InArt did literally everything anyone could possibly do.

Maybe Hot Toys’ll include a swappable tongue. :lol

You really going to compare an old release to an new figure from different company.

HT have re-used that Cavill sculpt and body with the lumpy deltoid 3 times now. They had plenty of chances to upgrade the proportions and head sculpt with each release but they took the lazy route.

They absolutely deserve being compared to IA who actually want to nail it on the first try.

Still my point stand comparing an old release to a new one is like comparing Copper to steel, of course the new one gonna have improvements over the other one.

I wasn’t talking about Hot Toys’ existing Cavill Supermen at all - I’m saying that InArt’s looks so perfect that I can’t imagine how they could possibly top it (with a new 2.0), especially considering some of the wonkiness on their new Batfleck.

I think new doesn't mean better, and it's sometimes in the eye of the beholder.

I really like the Original DX ESB Luke and round the new one awful looking.
Even the Bats 2.0, it look too clean.....

I do think the new supes will be better, simply because how well the Justice League version looked better. A 2.0Supes should be an upgrade though.

The way I see it, I'm comparing first attempts and IA won that one. There hasn't been some magic development in 1/6 figure technology since the BvS version that IA are now using on theirs. It's not like I'm comparing a JND with silicone head Joker to the DX 01.

If HT really wanted to even compete with InArt's version, they'd need to do something different like Included a Clark Kent set (which they more than likely won't do). I would say doing that would almost be the equivalent of how they gave the Bruce Wayne sculpt on the Batman 2.0 two different hair styles- one that looks more appropriate for a suited figure and another that’s as if he just took the cowl off. But again, HT will more than likely do the bare minimum for Superman which is sort of ironic given that when Superman Returns came out that made Superman, Clark Kent and then the 2-pack with both looks. Now, we’re lucky if we just get one

Knowing HT, they'd be lazy and just throw in a terribly underscaled Doomsday diorama base to justify the shot up price of $300+ for a deluxe edition

The whole HT Artisian worries me. Hot toys shouldn't be charging more for things they should have already been doing.

HT is just like every other money grubbing corporation...they will always look to screw you by giving you less and asking for more.

What does DX/Deluxe really mean?
So DX used to be their most premium type figure and only those ones included moving eyes and a diorama type base. Not so much anymore. It almost a useless title now given that most new figures come with moving eyes. Only thing I can see that is left to the DX figures are their larger art boxes with foam inserts.

Deluxe tends to mean some sort of extra accessory, usually pertaining to a diorama type base/display stand. The irony is that those “deluxe” version more often than not don’t include the standard display stand in addition to the diorama type one. In those cases, you usually have a standard version and a deluxe version. Oddly enough, some DX figures also now have a “Deluxe” version like DX OWK Darth Vader, DX Luke 2.0, and Mando Luke.

Artisan is the title for their hand rooted headsculpts, aside from WB100 Wonder Woman who doesn’t have an Artisan label. Anakin, Joker and Wanda are also “DX” Artisan releases for some reason. Again, nothing in particular seem to make them any different than a standard MMS figure these days aside from the rooted heads. The sculpted hair versions seem to be in the same class as other current MMS releases.

It’s all just fancy labeling the way I see it and reason for them to charge us more
