Hot Toys is like that person is your life that you really like but are still driven crazy by because of really poor decision making. To think that we have a figure of "Imposter Batman" something that someone at their office just flat out made up and still no Wonder Woman is maddening.

:lol This is so true.

I think we get the purple coat Joker before WW now so that will be four SS figures before they release one of the most important characters from this DCEU. The way WB are setting things up they've put Batman and WW front & centre. Going by the current buzz I think her movie is going to do really well and likely be the highest rated DCEU movie even after JL. Hot Toys need to make her a priority.

It's possible the figure was delayed specifically so it could be released closer to the WW movie. Eric Van Lustbader, who writes all the new Bourne novels, had his last novel delayed a year so it could release at the same time as the new movie. The delay may just be a marketing decision.

The headsculpt is changing with every prototype peak.

I Wonder Which one (won) we will get. WWwww

This one really looks like an actress I can't place ...

Marisa Tomei!

She's cute. :love

She's one of those rare instances for a female where she got even better looking with age, in my opinion.

That attachment is not the 1:6th scale figure that we will be getting...

That photo is the life size sculpture Hot toys has used at some of their toy shows in the east.
That being said I think the 1:6th scale sculpt is better.
The 1:6th scale sculpt is not perfect, I agree with many posters here that more stern eyes would make her much better.
I keep hoping they will tweak it after all the comments, and with how long they are taking in production.
I think the Scarlet Witch sculpt was a pleasant surprise...
The final head sculpt was much better than the prototype pics...

I'll keep hoping!

If it is, then IMO it's a bad marketing strategy. This figure is for BvS, not WW -- and they already announced the license for the WW movie so a WW release will also happen. A Bourne book can delay its release to ride the hype of a new film even if there'd be a follow up book coming soon, because if so it would definitely be a completely different book from the previous. Can't do the same thing with 2 figures of the same character from 2 different movies, even if there'd be as much difference as different headsculpts. These are $235 figures, not $20 books :)

Makes no sense they'd delay it nearly a year for that when they have the WW movie figures for that specific purpose. Seems almost certain it's because of modifications they had to do to the body to improve articulation. The give away was them never showing her in anything but a museum pose. Even the Armoured Batman, which has almost zero articulation, was shown in a few action poses in the prototype shoots and convention displays.

That's hardly limited to women. Other than the lucky few, 90% of people won't look as good as they did in their 20's. Middle age spread gets to most of us eventually. :lol

I was thinking the same thing.

True. Except I think society places more emphasis on beauty with women than it does men. Especially in Hollywood.

That's certainly true. It's more the perception. Baldness, going grey even wrinkles etc are sometimes seen to add character with men but in reality we are all deteriorating! One good thing for us living in England, less chance of sun damage. :lol

Regarding this figure I still think the prototype sculpt for a first attempt is pretty good. It has a decent resemblance to Gadot unlike the PF and Prime 1 statues. Should look great alongside Batman and Superman. Gal has pretty unique and striking facial features so I thought that would have made things easier for the sculptors.

Yeah, except that HT's sculptors seem to have a tendency to "prettify" and homogenise their sculpts, thus robbing them of their character and, obviously, the uniqueness that makes them beautiful in the first place...

Certainly seems to be true for the female characters. But it still looks better than even the most expensive statues of her thus far. I think all of us are eager to see the finished product. :impatient:

Actually, somebody posted a pic of a DC statue of her in her amazon attire, and the sculpt looks perfect.

Agreed, but still far from perfect and I don't think it looks a thing like her in the promo pics, but I do see the likeness in the Hong painted sculpt pics.

You would think so, seems like the sculpts from these companies have a generic causation appearance, whereas Ga Gadot, has an exotic appearance and I don't mean skin color. I mean her features like her almond shaped eyes, large thick lips and high prominent cheek bones. And this is why I believe the likeness looks off because neither of those Gal sculpts from all these companies has that exotic appearance she exhibits.

I don't know about perfect but it's pretty dam close and IMO better than any of the others I have seen.

Not a very good comparison pic I know, but it was the only one I could find that was close enough with her hair tied back.

Hopefully Hot Toys gets it right next time for the Wonder Woman movie because I doubt they will improve the likeness on this one. :(

What I'd like to know, does Disney/Marvel have a special relationship with Hot Toys? Just recently we had Shots of the Punisher, then Beauty and the beast and now Spider-man! Where the hell are the shots of the BvS Wonder Woman HT?

I think it is because the 3 licenses you just mentioned were recently announced and the pictures were part of the announcement...there were pictures of Wonder Woman when it was announced last year too.
