The HS looks better than proto but as a lot of people have already stated its not 100% accurate. For those wondering why we are complaining, well take into consideration the extended release of this. I expect major improvements if a figure is going to be pushed back on release like this one has.

I think HT just took the proto and did a couple tweaks, those being the jaw line and mouth and called it good. When in reality it really needed a rework from scratch.

I wil have mine next week so I will post pics. I really like it over all. The nose is what annoys me the most. It was the same on BvS Superman where its a very good likeness but on the profile the nose, especially the bridge of the nose is far too big. Gadot is Isreali so will have a larger nose but it's not that big.

The breast plate being so low down bothers me too but I for one love that body. Betcha in hand she will rock.

When pics released of the training version shortly after I saw the solo film, I immediately saw the likeness of Gal on the training version. I went back to look at this BvS version and agree with many on here that the likeness to Gal is way off. I really wanted a WW figure after seeing the film, but I just couldn't justify having this head sculpt, hence the waiting for a hopeful solo film version. If we don't get one then oh well, but the first thing that popped into my mind was that this is not Gal Gadot

You did exactly spoke my mind.

All you who are complaining, cancel your pre orders . I need a few of these to give to my nieces as gifts

At first I thought I was looking at Charlotte Rae, but now I think I see more Oprah Winfrey in this sculpt. FAKE HEAD SCULPT! :)

Tom Cruise. Always looks like Tom Cruise if it doesn't look like the intended person.

I tried to make a quick PS edit on the headsculpt..
IMHO, for me, HT missed few important elements on her face.

Your edits do improve on it a bit, mostly the eyes. However, I really don't think the portrait of the actual sculpt is that off. I think the whole overbite thing is a bit of a hyperbole and is just a result of them having perhaps made her mouth open slightly too much, showing more teeth, which I personally don't really have an issue with.

To me it sort of matches with this scene, in that she has her mouth open about the same as what HT did on the sculpt, with the same amount of teeth visible:

The only nuances I see between the HT sculpt and the edited sculpt, is the eyes are a bit narrower and more spaced apart on your edited rendition and the mouth is slightly more closed. Even with the mouth of the actual sculpt, I think it'd look superb if the eyes were a bit more narrow. Although based on that particular film grab, I do think the likeness of the actual sculpt is more accurate than your edited one, even the eyes.

I personally think it looks superb as is. It would be a case where your edited sculpt would maybe get a 9 and the actual sculpt an 8. So not far off.

...the portrait looks great; if Freaks pass because they don't like the portrait then that's okay.

It's all subjective anyway.

:exactly:

I only own one figure with rooted hair, CA:TWS - Black Widow, and I didn't have to fidget with it out of the box. I'm curious on how to make the hair look natural; any tips?

With figures with curly hair, I try to touch it as little as possible, tbh (especially the hair around the face). If you wanna fluff it to give it more volume, do so gently by patting the bottom of the hair, or the underneath parts. Don't run your fingers through it. Get some anti-frizz mousse or serum in order to take care of fly-aways, if you feel that wetting your finger and reactivating the product already in her hair doesn't do the trick. Work in the direction that the curls go in. Be patient.

I think this figure would look best with her hair pulled back off her shoulders and away from the face.

Every pic, I've seen seems like the holster is backwards, is this because of the photo on the cardboard insert or is that how the instructions have it?

Edit: nevermind, it flips back and forth I guess. I thought she was right handed.

Saw this on FB

I gotta say those thick plastic straps on the shield are ugly as hell, and look like something you'd see on a cheap action figure. Really wishing they could have come up with something better.

It does look like the chestplate is higher here though, so glad to see it's somewhat adjustable.

It doesn't bother me too much since it's removable it can always be adjusted

The actual strap is pretty big and pronounced as well

Some good points about lighting and picture quality from Budget Stark. In some of those blogger pics the likeness is really good.

I wonder if it's even remotely possible to get the hair looking as soft and shiny and flowy as on the Barbie WW. Seems like HT hair always ends up looking a bit ratty and brittle no matter what you do.

And looks like Barbie put some strands of lighter brown in there like it should have as well, which helps quite a bit.
