Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

Both do not match as the avengers logo is still on the figure while both battles had no logo! Just kidding Motu. Good points. People will always nitpick which is which. I prefer the regular to go with my cw iron man though. Just hope we can remove the logo.

That being the case, if one wants to get technical, I guess you can say the version that would without a doubt accurately match ANY point in the film would be the regular version with the stoic face expression, as that would conform to the beginning of the film when they were after Crossbones in Lagos.

Clean suit, clean shield, Avengers "A" logo on shoulders. :lol

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

there is no way to without a doubt accurately match the suit with 1 figure... because technically the last third has a scratched shield!!

Well, like boylost99 stated, both of them include an Avengers "A" logo on the side. So technically, neither accurately match any part of the film at any point beyond the scene when he went to apprehend Bucky at the place he was staying. :lol

However, he had the Avengers "A" logo on his suit at the beginning of the film while in Lagos when they were after Crossbones. The shield there was clean, so you just have to ask yourself if the clean suit or the weathered suit more accurately matches that scene.

If the Avengers logo on his shoulders turns out to be difficult to get off, then you could at least potentially have a 100% screen accurate Lagos/Crossbones scene Cap.

All levity and nit-picking aside though, I would agree that the best representation of one Cap figure from CW would be a figure that mixes and matches parts from both figures.

Yea I plan on having my battling version and I'll swap out my head with the interchangeable faceplates to get it as close as possible

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

I'm confused by a lot of the comments. Isn't this face sculpt the same as the non battle damaged version (regular face)?

They're referring to the alternate face/mouthplate that comes with the regular version which has Cap with gritting teeth.

I assume this figure will have magnets in his feet that match up with magnets in the stand right? I think that's how a previous figure worked with this base.

You know I think I'm gunna use the stand with TFA cap. Put him in this pose:

Shield fscing out. Seems more appropriate with TFA than cw cap.

It does seemingly go a bit better with TFA Cap based on that picture. I don't recall a time in CW where Cap was standing/fighting in a pile of rubble, like the base for this figure includes.

Anyone know which retailer might be stocking the promo version in Australia? Quitely hoping it's not PC as they appear to be pre-sold out. :(

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

I do sort of wish the Avengers logos were taken off the shoulders to be more accurate. Not a huge deal but a bit of a nitpick.

Yeah, as it stands this figure is "Concept Art Captain America." ;)

No, not really. It's civil war cap. The patch was there on screen and on set.

It is clearly Civil War Cap, but the figure comes with the broken Crossbones helmet - from the fight where he still has his Avengers patches - and the scratched shield - from the airport fight and beyond. (The base doesn't really fit with anything :lol ) It would be nice if the patches were removable/re-attachable so you could display him from any point in the film. Personally, not having them feels more like "Civil War Cap" than having them, given the importance of Steve taking them off.

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

While it would be nice to have the option to take them off, it doesn't change what I was saying. The suit had it on film so it's clearly not just based on concept art. It's screen accurate. Which is not what the post I replied to was intimating.

You can't have it match every scene all the time with one or even two figures. They try to "represent" the entire film with one (or two) figure.

It's still CW Cap.

However, if we're going to get technical as it pertains to the "A" patches on his shoulders, both the regular version and BV conform to his look at the beginning of the film in Lagos during his showdown with Crossbones. Only part in the film where he had them on.

Though I'm sure not intentional (since the BV shield has claw marks), the fact that both figures include a broken Crossbones helmet accessory (as opposed to say a broken IM helmet accessory in the same way the Mk 46 includes a Cap helmet accessory) sort of helps tie the figure(s) to this part of the film.

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

Wait, does that mean that only Premium Collectibles were carrying it? Because usually they still list stuff that is sold out, and I can't find the promo version in their Civil War lineup.
