I got my Death Star Gunner from Ebay! Using that coupon I paid $166 shipped from seller toymaniac which is the Ebay handle for the store Goldmine Comics and Cards out of Wyoming MI. Great packaging with the figure box inside the shipper box and then wrapped in bubble wrap and sent in another box!
I only have enough time to check it out, Looks great just very light on accessories and details but that's accurate to the way it looked in the movie. I noticed that the Empire emblem on the helmet is a little askew, but looking at other people's pics of this figure, mine isn't as bad as some and the images I've seen of the helmet in the actual movie look more crooked and askew than mine so all is good!

Still, this is so light on accessories, costume detail, and that there's no painted human head underneath the helmet that I can't help but feel the retail price is just too high for a figure like this. It really should be priced at $145 max. I'm glad I got this on a good discount!

I bought one as well with the NYCC code and just got it today. Opened it up and yes very minimal but still a great looking figure. Can't beat $166. My imperial symbol is dead-on but unfortunately mine came with a scuff above it. For a second I thought it may be repacked/used but figured out it was from the bubble packaging - slight friction on the helmet... bummer. I'm gonna let him know but will keep it and try to fix it.
Excellent packing job as mentioned and swift delivery.

Update: Contacted Toymaniac and let him know of my dilemma. Told him I would keep it and try to fix it and he said to keep him posted and he seemed willing to help out in anyway. I was ably to make the scuff disappear and it looks good as new :) *phew* Minor meltdown avoided.

Good to hear DR 37! I have some smudges on my helmet but they don't look permanent, I just need to polish the dome! :lol

It looked like the he took small shelf dive or headbutted something. Gloss was just smudged off, appeared scratched but was totally smooth. It was from friction from the packaging or he was packed while the finish wasn't fully set from the manufacturer. The scuff was about a quarter inch long arching over the Imperial symbol exactly where the bubble contacts the figure. I just soflty brush a thin layer of Pledge Floorcare over it minding - the brush strokes - and after a couple coats it was gone.
Try to post pics tomorrow or this wknd when I can get a pose in. Wanna let the gloss fully cure.

I recommend taking the leather layer off. It is very thin on most stressed places and can be easily damaged.

Ouch, that sucks, sorry.

Although the leather gives him a cool look, its actually more accurate to display the flight suit.

That is, if you care about accuracy after spending $200 on your accurate dollie. :D

Using the pleather jacket myself but it won't allow any dynamic poses. Still debating whether or not i'll remove it and give him a more action oriented pose.

He's not a very action oriented character, except for those hard to reach overhead switches.

Part of the reason I haven't bought him yet. Not sure what to do with him.

He'd definitely pay off in conjunction with the DS Trooper and that console.

Would've been a cool two pack. Just the Gunner alone doesn't warrant enough for me to want to buy him minus that's it's an OT character.

Damn... that's a bummer Futurion :(
I've been thinking of displaying without the leather top mainly to show off the remote pad on his sleeve and also to keep him from biting Vader's sense of fashion :)

Mine has the exact same issue.

I thought maybe I had done it but I'm very careful when handling my figures. Is it just floor varnish that you used?

I used Pledge Floor Care. Use an airbrush for easiest and best application. I'd also highly recommend trying it on a test piece first. Anything plastic and the same colour. Better to screw that up than your expensive figure. It's very easy to get brush strokes or could appear "smokey" if applied too thick and if applied over a coat that has not fully cured. Goodluck :)

The two piece articulated glove they came up with is better than i thought. Although his left hand pops off pretty easily due to some material around the bottom of the peg. I have a feeling they will stay on better if the leather top is removed.

They will, but the the gauntlet will slide away from the hand in poses where gravity interferes.

Because less material (leather top) to hold on to... gotcha. I guess I'll add some fabric tape or something to thicken up the flight suit wrists whenever i decide to change him up. Thanks for the heads up 👍🏽
