Surprises me the things Justin doesn't know about about the previous figure(s) considering he's reviewed them, that he feels is new on this figure.
One thing is for certain which I've been saying all along, especially for those who have said that this is just the DX15 with a new head, the outfit has been completely redone and tailored so much better. It can be seen so clearly even in Justin's comparison with his mediocre futzing of both.
- Like the magnet on the belt to hold the sash in place. I know it was on the DX15 but might've also been on the DX06 belt
- The embossing on the baldric/chest belt which has been there since the DX06 yet he says was previously only possible if it was sculpted plastic/rubber.
- The striped pattern on the back of the vest/waistcoat which has also been present since the DX06.
- The sculpted forearms which have been present since the DX06
- the weave of the jacket material is the same as DX15 just tailored better. The buttons and the pleats at the back have also been there since the DX06

Every review is going to have some errors and such, but I feel like this could have benefited from some fact checking in the comparison department, especially since he clearly has the DX15 in hand.
Without a side by side, can't be sure, but I don't think it's a new base body, I just think the tailoring makes it seem different. The tighter sleeves and overall fit of the coat make a big difference.
It's a great review for seeing the details up close. While I would say that the areas that look better than the previous Jack's outnumber and are more prominent enough to make it the best version yet, I definitely see areas that are steps backward, and thus, a definitive, out of the box Jack Sparrow still does not exist.
Particularly in Justin's video, the shirt looks a bit too thin/cheap, I see some fraying on edges already, and yet, the thinner strings is a nice upgrade.
The sash looks too dirty to me, or rather, the dirtying of the white parts just looks too brown and not like a dirty white sash. The DX15 sash looks plenty dirty to me on my figure.
I'm glad Justin took the time to demonstrate the ability to mix and match pieces. While we would all assume compatibility between DX releases since parts could mix and match between DX06 and DX15, it wouldn't be unheard of for the newest to be made in such a way that didn't work.
It's such a small feature, but I love the new belt furs. The idea of actual fur pelts was great on the previous DX figures, but they were just so oversized, I currently use the plastic ones from MMS42 on my custom Jack just because the scaling looks better.
