Now that we have extra-tall Darthtroopers, Darth Vader has been inserting some lifts into his boots. Gotta keep up with the Joneses.

The general rule is that a 6' tall dude should be eye level with the center of the triangle that is Vader's respirator.

The stock Hot Toys Vader figure is too tall.

I always thought the top of a stormy's helmet was up closer to Vader's nose, but stormies obviously didn't have the same actor inside in every shot, so I guess both are right.

Bottom line is, Vader is not nearly as tall as people always seem to assume he is.

Pretty amazing that you'll have the 12-back Display in 1/6th. It's a completist's dream. What will you do once that's off your bucket list?

That's not even all the old figures, is it? I have most of them except like two Ewoks and couple others. I think I'm missing 6 total if memory serves.

I forget how maybe there were, well over a hundred... but there's also the "variants" like tall snaggletooth and the two Jawas and those with the telescoping sabers, and more...

My guess is that Vader was originally written to be a towering figure and was intended to be quite tall, but ended up being made shorter to make it easier to shoot different camera angles with other actors. Then later his 'ideal'
height was passed along to toy makers rather than the height he appeared to be in the films.
I have zero evidence to support any of this, it's just a theory.

There's a couple Imperial officers that look Vader in the eye on ANH. He's just an averagely tall guy.
