Great to see this one still kicking.

Also great to see that he will come with the dual console.

Would look great with the Han in Disguise... "...situation normal, had a slight weapons malfunction..."

Tarkin's uniform and officer uniforms overall should be a little bit baggy. It comes from ww2 wehrmacht/ss hugo boss fashion style.

I thought they were based on the uniforms from farenheit 451, the old NY police tunic and the WW1 German tunic? I swear I remember reading that somewhere...

Nope. We've been waiting a full year for that information. We're gonna have to wait a little more i'm afraid.

Wonder how much those consoles are going to push up the price? I am assuming they are going to be part of his accessories and not a separate purchase though.

The fact that fascism inspired the look and feel of the Empire is no secret. In fact, Star Wars creator George Lucas even refers to the Imperial officers in The Empire Strikes Back as “Nazis” while giving his commentary of the film. He specifically mentions their militaristic dress

This looks like a great figure with the console, but so many others coming out. It's much lower on my list now, but hope he comes for everyone that wants him. I know he'll make a good companion piece to Stormtrooper Han with the console. Plus all the other Imperial figures.

Gloves still look really funky on this fig. They seem to be a relic of the ill fated two-part gloves that HT did for their ANH Vader.

They are in fact inspired by these Ulanka/Uhlan Prussian uniforms, which also inspired the WWII German uniforms

It would be cool if his gloves were removable and came with extra regular hands and an Imperial Officers cap so one could have the option to display him as an Officer as well.

THAT would be sweet! But he looks like he's been finalized being shown "as is" twice already.
I have a feeling he'll be up for preorder very soon.

According to your link, costume designer John Mollo states that the the actual Imperial officers' tunics were modelled after decidedly pre-"Nazi" Prussian military garb from WWI or earlier, not "SS Hugo Boss" designs.

And where do you think ww2 uniforms design comes from? Inspired by old Prussian military. Not that it's important, we are not on history forum.

The caps were inspired by the Imperial Japanese Navy.

Coinciding with the 1976 film, Midway.

Though Kurtz said they had recordings from Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) while researching scenes for Star Wars.

Cool fun fact. Thanks for sharing.

Don't be silly. German WWII military dress has more in common, stylistically, with British officers' or American police uniforms of the time, than anything characteristically Prussian.

The Imperial Navy troopers' helmet was also apparently modelled, like Darth Vader's mask, after feudal-era Japanese military headgear. The general charactistics of the TIE Fighters arguably crib from the A6M Zero as well.
