Yeah, the gunner is tempting. But at the moment this would be the purchase between the two. If it has the console it's a definite.

Yeah I'm also hoping for a Hot Toys Rebel Fleet Trooper. I even sent Hot Toys an email the other day giving them a few facts and arguments why they should do one. Also to match the Imperial Death Star trooper & gunner. I know it'll have no outcome, but no harm in people asking. In fact perhaps more the better....so go to it people !

They did actually respond and said it would be forwarded to the production team as a reference. Whatever that means.

Watching the Rogue One again on the weekend there certainly were a lot of those Fleet Trooper helmets in the movie !

I just bought the old Sideshow RFT, swapped out the body, exchanged the head for a soldier story one and now have a really nice figure for sub £100.

Did the same with an Endor Sideshow too.

You should send Hot Toys that suggestion. Then they get another request, and that great idea for the head sculpt. Just go to the Hong Kong HT website and they have a contact page. Doesn't hurt to ask.

The outfit is pretty dated - things like the vest have that "old Sideshow" level of detail. It's fine for background or next to Vader (where you're more focused on Vader) but it doesn't compare well with the HT or even SSC newer figs to me.
