Everyone has a different opinion about which of growing number of neglected Mandalorian characters should be made. But the bigger concern is the lack of any on the horizon, with only Moff Fring even getting a tease. Has Hot Toys lost all their sculptors?

Yes I agree. Last year we must have been at least 4-5 figures in by now I guess ? Really quite strange, also considering the popularity of Star Wars.

I would believe they are also working on stuff for upcoming Marvel TV shows etc. But given the delays there and none with Mando, they should be able to show something more than a Tusken Raider and Gideon.

Captain America (Endgame & 2012 redo) and Mando (original & Beskar). I think there was plenty of overlap with the various Batfleck releases too. Probably with the Nolanverse Bats as well.

Edit: There are also two completely different WW84 figures up for order right now.

Correct: I count myself among the "we" who do NOT need another HT version of Ahsoka BEFORE we get version 1.0 of Cara Dune, Bo-Katan or as someone else mentioned, the Armorer. 110% correct!

[tbh, me myself and I don't even need the *one* version of Ahsoka we got now. But shhhhh, no one will know but you and me. I am benevolent and recognize that tastes differ.]

Being Star Wars, there will always be existing characters that show up, and I guess it comes down to what you personally want to see - and that can depend on your connection to these characters. I have an involuntary cringe when something from the PT shows up, but they're using it as seasoning - tying the lore together, so I can live with it. They're not going to please everyone. At the moment I'm ok with the sprinkling of existing characters that have been popping up. Mainly because they are in "supporting" roles. But seriously, those few minutes of Michael Biehn's character in the recent episode were terrific in giving an unknown (I guess?) a pretty cool chunk of action and personality. More new characters please
Except that blue guy. He's kinda annoying in the wrong way.

Funny thing is, I think Horatio Sanz is doing such an outstanding job with the character (Mythrol) - nailing the performance - I really like the the character. He's EXACTLY the something-bs-er character he's supposed to be. And respect for doing that under a heavy prosthetic/makeup load.

That is not to say tho I'd lay out 250$ for him. Maybe 25$ for a Black Series fig.

Oh, I don't mind guest stars showing up. It's when it's IMO imbalanced and am not even won over by script or performance that I start getting less tolerant. Especially in this case where u wait for a year and there's only 8 episodes.

Agree about Michael Biehn tho. He nailed what he was doing too.

(To add to my personal misery, rumor has it the upcoming episode will be one of the shortest like around ~30 minutes. Tho I'll just add before someone sez "first world problems" - yeah - I need stuff where I am not thinking about what is going on all the time. What a *&^% year)

Also supposedly there will be another Disney Gallery for Season 2, so maybe there will be more on costumes and props from this season.

It's not like covid prevents HT artists from working on prototypes. It kinda blows my mind that we haven't seen at least 3 or 4 considering that we are pretty close to 10 very desirable characters that have yet to be shown. As you said, there are fewer distractions from other properties than there has been in years. The Mandalorian is undisputed king of the entertainment industry at the moment.

There were only 3 figures released by this point in the first season, so it?s par for the course. Over half of the season 1 line-up came post-show.

I was hoping we would see more of Biehn than we did, I was hoping he would turn out to be an important person we might see again.

Oh wow...hoping for best outcomes and rapidly so for you and yours!

I work in film and started back on set in October. Our industry is heavily compartmentalized and strict with protocols and testing, but I still get the willies every time I go out. You can't eliminate risk 100% and while I imagine the potential for exposure and sheer density is obviously much higher in your line of work, I do worry.

And yes, you should get the Deathwatch figure. I can't imagine it'll be difficult to unload at a decent re-sale value if you change your mind.

This. It's concerning that they're building up a backlog that they'll be unable to dig out of. Will Cara ever get made when there's strong outcry for Bo Katan, Ashoka and now Thrawn and a mystery Jedi (depending on who that is the outcry could be huge).

Best of luck to you. Most of my immediate family myself included are in health care. Both friends and family of mine have had covid and have recovered extremely well so just have confidence that things will be alright. Taste and smell can take weeks to return so don't be alarmed. Can't disagree with you there, this Mandalorian line has the potential to cause a lot of heartache. I still haven't come to terms with them skipping on the Armorer and Kuill. Greef and Carga still have a shot at least.

I'm surprised that HT hasn't announced a Mando version of the Jawas. Talk about an easy release. Make it a 2-pack with a mudhorn egg. Toss the muffin top base, though...

I think we'll see a Cara Dune teaser sometime soon. New body development probably is what is holding it up.

I don't hold out much hope for a Kuiil, though.
