Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

They confirmed it was shortened for stunt work. Honestly the amount of people complaining and whining about this on social media is laughable. God forbid you get a great live action representation of the character but it's the end of the world because her lekku was too short. :cuckoo:

Hope HT does a figure of her. I doubt they'll pass on the opportunity.

I love her look on the show but their reason of not making the head tails longer due to stunt work seems odd. I mean Oola had huge head tails and she was fully dancing and spinning and that was way back in 1983.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

The whole montral/lekku thing comes down to cost I guess. I'm continually surprised that this show obviously runs on a tight budget. Don't get me wrong, it looks spectacular sometimes, very good at others ... but particularly upon re-watching, it's easy to see where their budget constraints lie on any given episode.

I keep thinking "It's Disney Star Wars, they have money to throw at this!" but clearly the accountants are strong in this one.

If they had wanted a 1-to-1 translation of the animated character it could have been achieved the same way they do part-practical, part-CG on MCU suits and prostheses, but they only went so far with Ahsoka.

It doesn't bother me too much personally. I think the appendages on this species are impractical to begin with, but even though I noticed they were different from the cartoon I was more focused on what they were able to give us rather than on what they didn't. :dunno

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

What’s the point in revealing them when the figure won’t come out for 2 years anyway?

They need to work on getting these things out in a timely manner before I can start getting excited about a potential figure going up for Pre-order.

Because there isn't much else exciting going on in life right now, thanks to a certain virus, a new figure reveal gives a little dopamine rush.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous that LFL is going to be able to complete and air the entirety of *Season 3* before HT fill finish a single Tusken Raider action figure, lol.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

Well even if it takes forever to get the figures, we'll at least have a bunch of proto pics to nitpick and complain about for 2 years. :D

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

You seem to be mistaken. Clone Wars helped make the PT a lot more tolerable to fans and a lot more people are fans of them because of it. It absolutely CONNECTS the PT because it's what ties Episodes 2 and 3.

And Rebels was leading into the Rebellion from the OT and all of the designs are tied into the OT. So again, the OT helped Rebels and vice versa. They ARE connected.

After a full season and a half, this show still has nothing to do with the First Order yet. I understand that's what we were told originally, there's still 15 years left before The Force Awakens timeline, so there's plenty of time for Favreau/Filoni to still make reasonable changes, depending on how they feel about their story.

Where was i mistaken?
TCW made the prequels better just like the combo Rogue One+Rebels made the OT better.
After ROTJ and before TFA THERE IS "THE MANDALORIAN" just like after episode 3 and before episode 4 there is Rebels
We still dont know how much time passes between seasons, for the Navaro episode from season 2, i am sure that passed more than a month from the last episode from season 1 to the first episode from season 2.

Maybe they should do like Jango and just make decent enough prototype that can be nitpicked for years, so that when they're officially up for Pre Order, people will be so thankful for what we get?

But yeah, I need that Bo Katan announcement this week already.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

I must be getting mellow in my old age. What's wrong with Bridger?

Nothing imo, he starts as a whiny little kid (much like Ahsoka) but he grows and matures over the series I find him quite likeable by S3/4.

It's funny how people are up in arms about "Mary Sue" characters, but if you have a character with flaws and unlikable traits people rage on those as well. But if you stick with those characters and follow their development, they can become some of the most satisfying characters in the series.

Yep, exactly.
Ahsoka - Starts as an annoying kid, grows to be one of the best Star Wars characters out there and a fan favourite to many.
Ezra - Starts as a whiny annoying kid, matures a bit and comes into his own, not the best character but certainly not terrible.
Even everyone's precious Luke Skywalker - Starts as whiny and annoying in ANH, still kind of a brat in ESB but by the time of ROTJ he is more grown and wise. Until the sequels where he becomes a cranky annoying hermit.

Why be vague and say Mary Sue when you could just be blunt and say Rey?:lol There was no development to her in 3 movies except finding out who her Grandfather was in the last 30 min. She was the same all powerful character in the beginning of Episode 7 as she was in the final scene of Episode 9. People have a ton of valid points for being "up in arms" about a character like that. There's a huge difference between characters like that and characters with actual arc that you learn to like.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

Every protagonist is Mary Sue except few exceptions like Jyn Erso, the problem with Rey is her being Rey for some fans

I like how they shoved that little scene of her training in the woods into TROS to go "hey guys look! she's training! see!" but you know they only put that there because people complained about her lack of training, but by the time they showed her actually training, it was too late because she's already perfect.

She trained more than luke in the three movies, she was already peak physical form in the beginning of the TFA because of her hard life in jakku, against a farm boy who lived with his uncles. She only win the fight with Kylo because he is wounded and she is OPEN to the Force.

Luke
NH: farm boy knows how to pilot a xwing from his ass just like his father
ESB: lesser than a padawan but with the body trained
ROTJ: in the beggining Jedi(Padawan to knight level) and Jedi (knight level) by the end of the movie

Rey
TFA:scavenger, body peek conditions, learns about the force and its open minded
TLJ: Jedi(Padawan to knight level)
TROS:Jedi (knight level)

I think you missed my point. I was not defending Mary Sue's. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of the fandom that decries the "Mary Sue" who are often the same group denouncing characters with actual growth arcs.

Luke couldn't use mind tricks and have a lightsaber duel with the villain (AND WIN) out of the gate though. Luke only ever really uses the force when he is being TRAINED by Obi-Wan with the helmet, training droid and lightsaber and then at the end where all he does is concentrate to land the torpedo shot.

In ESB he trains with Yoda, briefly, but he still trains. He duels Vader, but it's obvious Vader is playing with him and Luke gets his ass handed to him.

In ROTJ there's been a full year gap, Luke has learned how to build his own lightsaber and has obviously been training in that time.

Anyway, enough of that, seems every Mando threat derails into a sequel debate at some point.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

With 1 year training, he beat one of the most powerful Sith Lords who has been dealing with Force for 20+ years.
Rey's got beaten by Kylo in TROS.

Just an observation: Luke trained for a few hours max with Obiwan in NH, he only trained for real with Yoda in ESB.
And Luke is a close minded person that why is more difficult to him to learn how to manipulate the force even with his natural gifs than Rey who is an open minded person, thats why she can do the things she do in TFA

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

Somewhere in the EU, didn't Boba Fett actually beat Vader in some kind of duel or fight? Because Boba Fett? :lol

That was in "Boba Fett: Enemy of the Empire" I think, IIRC what ended up happening was they kinda fought to a draw and when Fett saw his opportunity to slip away, he did so. Because he isn't actually stupid enough to think he could BEAT Vader, the guy that wrecks AT-ATs by merely gesturing at them. But they did have a beef, so... Fett is many things, but stupid is not one of them.

Notice also that Vader did not outright kill Fett when he had the chance, and he easily could have done so. Whereas he would have killed Bridger had he not been distracted....

This is all academic anyways. If Bridger has fans, fine. I just dont want him and his compadres taking over "Mandalorian," give this bunch their own show and leave us Mando fans in peace.

My ideal situation would be Favreau doing what he does best and keeping a tight leash on Filoni. I don't like Filoni's proclivities and don't trust him not to turn the show into an extension of his animated series. As you say, those characters had their own shows and don't need to drain The Mandalorian.

It's The Mandalorian, not The Filoni's Greatest Hits.
