Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

I'm hoping some Rebels or Clone Wars characters show up in this show, mainly Ahsoka. Would be cool to see Sabine too. Then we might actually get HT figures of them.

I would love a live action Ahsoka. There was a video from the Galaxy’s Edge panel with John Williams and Ahsoka was pictured in a line up with Chewbacca, Resistance, and First Order peeps so maybe they’ll at least have her at the park. I wish HT would do some exclusives for the park like Hondo Ohnaka and Ahsoka, but they didn’t even show up to Celebration this year so who knows. 🙄 But here’s hoping she maybe shows up in the Mandalorian too

I guess with Filoni involved in The Mandalorian anythings possible. Especially with Ahsoka, his favourite child.

If there would be one way to get the fans pumped to 150% it would be doing something like that.

In fact this might be the next step for Filoni and/or Faverau to be the next Feige a few years down the track when Kennedy retires or moves on.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

This takes place 5 years after ROTJ, "Clone Wars" was way long gone before that..

But still definitely possible.

Would certainly make an interesting cameo.

Just copying and pasting text from that link.

"Let’s do some simple math: Ahsoka is revealed to be 14 at the beginning of the Clone Wars, still a youngling, and is 17 by the end of the 3 year war. There is a 19 year gap etween Episodes III and IV to allow time for Luke and Leia to grow up, and Rebels takes place 5 years before A New Hope, meaning that when Ahsoka arrives back on the scene, she is 14 years older than she was during Revenge of the Sith, making her 31. The series epilogue takes place immediately following the events of Return of the Jedi, which takes place 9 years after Rebels, making her 40 when she reveals she is still alive in her Gandalf-esque white robes."

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Arrg, after watching that trailer way too many times I decided I really needed some more badass bounty hunters in my collection, so just ordered a Bossk and IG-88 to go with my Boba Fett, since Popcultcha was having an Easter sale with each under $190.

Pretty sure I can just stop at those three though, since the other figures are looking kinda underwhelming to me.

I just did the same. If I could have found a reasonably priced Sideshow 4-LOM, I might have gotten him as well.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Word has it that the droid in Mandalorian isn't actually IG-88, but a new droid in the IG series: IG-11. Guess we'll have to see. He looks awesome either way still.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Any possibility of Darth Maul apperance in this show ? maybe we can some crimson dawn business

He’s long been double dead by the time this show starts. I’m assuming for good, this time.

Leave his appearance to Solo Parts 2 & 3 (which the girl who played Enfys Nest accidentily let drop in an interview at Celebration).

As the movie "apparantly" didn't do well in cinemas (we all know it wasn't only the movie itself to blame), I would bet good money the next parts of the trilogy will be re-purposed for Disney+ TV.

It wasn't hard to see at the end of Solo that they were setting up the next chapter with Kira, Maul and Crimson Dawn.

The more I think about it the more I think the next part probably would be better suited to long arc episodic TV anyway.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Very similar to the cancelled video game Star Wars 1313...

Be dope if they added his droid buddy too...

In the extended footage, it actually does look like he has a "droid buddy". A more mechanical somewhat updated RA-7 bug like looking droid, appears to be piloting either the Razorcrest or his own ship, and later might be in a standoff with the Mando.
Not sure what the porotcol is here posting unofficial released images, I saw some further back in the thread, so seems ok, just in case i'll put it in spoiler:

This guy looks great!

Beside (Carl Weathers)as Greef Karga, and(Gina Carana)as Cara Dune, some other characters likely in the Bounty Hunters guild, or after the same bounty? :
-Bill Burr character (LOL!), he has a shoulder mounted gun, my guess he's there to get laughably killed off. (don't think I'd want a figure of this guy) the others however:
-A Trandoshan-like alien (doesn't seem to be Bossk, maybe Bossk2.0, he gets a bucket like helmet lowered on to him, and is later seen with the Guild group.
-A Trenchoat wearing one.
-A Devaronian
-A Twi'lek female (purple)
-And the fully articulated IG- droid in action, apparently IG-11.

Any of those ^ would make for great figures.

And of course Esposito as the diehard Imperial, flanked by Death Troopers.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

So I've seen online that some people think we'll see Boba Fett in The Mandalorian. Don't know why they would even do that.

As far as I understood it Faverau's original idea was with Boba Fett. But the whole "non excitement" over a stand alone Boba Fett movie made them re-tool it to a new character somewhat similar. They could also feed into more of the Mandalorian culture and explain why they weren't present in the OT for example.

Seems like a better idea to me to introduce a new character and fresh ideas without bringing all the baggage of Fett. Did he really survive ? Was he Mandalorian ? etc etc

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

I'm fine with either interpretation of the Mandalorian character. I do think an entirely new character would be better though . I'd much rather he go up against or work with Fett at some point if we're going to put Fett in the show.

I do think Rogue One hit the button of fresh, but familiar. That's kinda what I want from this show. Minimal appearances from already known characters with new characters that feel affected by the core story we know. Or at least the circumstances of that story.

It seems like they're kind of already touching on that with the empire remnants around so I'm happy to see that.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Yeah I don't really see the point in having Fett in this, especially since this new character already seems a hundred times more interesting. And I suspect they'll want to save Fett for his own project or make him part of some other series where he can be a bigger focus.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Yep totally agree guys. I guess the benefit of this show is that Disney has learnt what does and doesn't work (and who needs to be involved from a director show runner point of view). Too much of the old simply copied or using strictly known characters doesn't work. A new character in a familiar environment is definitely the right formula for me.

What will be really interesting is how deep Hot Toys will go here. Assuming it is good, I guess we have the advantage of no new Star Wars going into early next year.

I do kind of wish his sidekick was some sort of cool alien and not a droid. But I'm sure it will be fine.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Knowing HT, we'll MAYBE see the Mando himself... and that's it. I'm not holding my breath on anything else.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Black Series figures will fill in the rest. This is HT here. They couldn't even make Lando from Solo.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

With any luck we'll see the title character and a reissue of the Death Troopers/Rogue One Storm Troopers since they're also going to be in this.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

They haven't even made Lando from ESB (which is even more relevant).

Howard has said they are working on him. He'll be shown this year I think, worst case after Ep9 riding on Billy Dee nostalgia.
