Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

With any luck we'll see the title character and a reissue of the Death Troopers/Rogue One Storm Troopers since they're also going to be in this.

That Incinerator trooper with the flamethrower will also probably be an easy re-paint and release for them. Not something I want, but easy & fast to get to market for HT.

I'm really hoping for some aliens. Don't even know if I'd get a Carl Weathers figure, costume design doesn't look too exciting, but depends on his involvement in the story.

Since the bar for Deathtroopers are probably lowered by this point in the Empire's timeline and we see a couple in different heights in the trailer, maybe they'll do a 2-pack of a tall and short one like the regular Stormies?:dunno :lol

Yep chances are pretty high for a re-release. I think HT likes these guys. They released 3 different versions for Rogue One :lol

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

I wouldn't mind some Hot Toys GhostTroopers either:lol

Haven't played Battlefront 2 for a long time. Missed these guys, but the color swap does look pretty cool.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Given that all that most casual fans know about Mandos are Boba and Jango, it'll be interesting to see if they show any kind of connection of this guy to The Fetts, even in passing reference but I doubt we'll see him at all. The Disney strategy right now seems to want to broaden the universe. Rogue One worked, The Last Jedi was controversial and Solo was underwhelming. I think you'll see less of the Skywalker era characters in the future projects other than the obvious troopers and droids, etc. Disney wants to try and get new characters that spur things they can make without the baggage of their older purchase. I wouldn't be shocked if post "Rise of Skywalker" you get less and less mentions of people even in the new trilogy just to get them to expand.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

I saw couple of Scout troopers with their speeder bikes in that leaked teaser..dont want to buy SS version and hope HT will make them.

They must surely be a given. I'm surprised it's taken them this long. However I guess they wanted to get Endor Luke and Leia out before getting to Scout Troopers and Ewoks :lol

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Just looking through my fan art collection for that Leia pic I found the one that I immediately thought of when I saw the Mandalorian's ship. Pretty close. Maybe a legends ship or something ?

If you trace the root of that ^ image it appears to be part of an illustration and vehicle design contest at ILM
Although it looks like elements of this ship already existed and were used in the Clone Wars for the
SS-54 Gunship

Love the look of the Razorcrest...

In the extended footage, it actually does look like he has a "droid buddy". A more mechanical somewhat updated RA-7 bug like looking droid, appears to be piloting either the Razorcrest or his own ship, and later might be in a standoff with the Mando.
Not sure what the porotcol is here posting unofficial released images, I saw some further back in the thread, so seems ok, just in case i'll put it in spoiler:

This guy looks great!

Beside (Carl Weathers)as Greef Karga, and(Gina Carana)as Cara Dune, some other characters likely in the Bounty Hunters guild, or after the same bounty? :
-Bill Burr character (LOL!), he has a shoulder mounted gun, my guess he's there to get laughably killed off. (don't think I'd want a figure of this guy) the others however:
-A Trandoshan-like alien (doesn't seem to be Bossk, maybe Bossk2.0, he gets a bucket like helmet lowered on to him, and is later seen with the Guild group.
-A Trenchoat wearing one.
-A Devaronian
-A Twi'lek female (purple)
-And the fully articulated IG- droid in action, apparently IG-11.

Any of those ^ would make for great figures.

And of course Esposito as the diehard Imperial, flanked by Death Troopers.

As well as all the above you can see a couple of other unique Mandos too.
If figures are forthcoming, probably depends how prominent they are, or how easy it is to re-purpose already made elements.
They appear to have a unique cut and color to their helmets,. and appear to be rivals.

Yes my son has that one as a Lego model. Was pretty cool looking at that time too. So yes, nice design and well suited to someone like a Mandalorian bounty hunter who probably needs some storage space etc.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

Did anyone see a Tusken Raider in the TV trailer ? Would love Hot Toys to do a Tusken Raider some time.

Failing that I guess we'll need to wait for the Obi-Wan series if that ever happens.....

I didn’t see any Tusken Raiders but there was a concept art where the Razorcrest is parked next to a Sandcrawler so it’s possible we may see some of them. There’s definitely Jawas though, I assume he makes his way to Tatooine. I’d love to see a new Hutt too.

I'm pretty sure it's focused a fair bit on Tatooine. Some killer Jawas with different weapons would be pretty cool to add to the collection.

Hot Toys just needs to go in heavy for this series and then piggy back off that and do a lot of OT figures like Jawas and Tusken Raiders. Who knows if they will but I'd love a HT Tusken Raider.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

I don’t trust Hot Toys to do anything niche or risky anymore.

What they *do* produce is generally excellent with some exceptions, but they’re solidly mainstream with their approach.

Every new thread that pops up is filled with “Hot Toys should...” or “I’d totally buy a...” — I’m one of those people myself.

But now I tell myself: “Hot Toys won’t...” and “I’ll never see a...”

LOL ... would so love to be proven wrong but not seeing it.

I’d love for that to not end up being true but I agree with you. I wish HT would delve into stuff more.
At the very least I wish they’d be more transparent with upcoming plans or ideas. Hell they could even crowdsource stuff for the hardcore fans- like Hasbro did with Jabba’s Sail barge *cough* 1/6 TIE Interceptor *cough.*
Blahhhhh.

Sure they're a pretty much "by the numbers" company. i.e only make what will look amazing that no one else can do (human head sculpts), and only the well known, most popular characters for highest sales.

This is actually what worries me when it comes to SW aliens. I'm not sure if HT believes there are the sales numbers for aliens. I don't think the effort is drastically less that they can make a higher profit margin.

Surely we'll see some well known aliens if they are relatively prominent in The Mandalorian. At some point HT are going to run out of OT, PT and ST human sculpt figures.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys "The Mandalorian" Figures

While I get being cautious with this, this show will be part of Triple Force Friday along with the TROS and is the flagship show for Disney+.

That, with how Hot Toys has done multiple Fett’s, including the Pre Pro, I just can’t see them skipping out on this guy.
