Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

They've reissued a couple of Iron Man figures and most recently the Batman Begins figure (along with the Batpod and Tumbler), but they have never reissued a single Star Wars figure.

(Unless you are counting the Vader and Fett ESB 40th figures)

They did reissue the ANH Han and Chewbacca two pack awhile back.

Wow 3 head sculpt characters in a row !! Hot Toys finally getting there in the Mando lineup. Thanks to Getter-Dragon for the updated list in his thread.

Damn that Temura Morrison sculpt looks good up close !!!

I mean seriously, who would've thought a show like this would light up HT to deliver all of these characters? Many on this board would kill (including me) to get an OT run like that! This just shows how incredible Favreau is.

The man has made Iron Man, The Mandalorian, and Elf. Put him in the Hall of Fame. Put him in charge of Lucasfilm. To have accomplished this level of success in both MCU and Star Wars is quite an achievement.

And just to think it's only a couple of months since people were whinging about them making no headsculpts for the line. Now they're too busy moaning about the likeness of the headsculpts we're getting. No wonder Hot Toys focus so heavily on helmeted characters with this fanbase. Anyway, I don't see another trooper variant for season 2, I think they're all troopered out, so that leaves us with 4 options: Cobb Vanth, Fennec Shand, Koska Reeves, and Migs Mayfeld. Sadly, I think Greef's chances are zero after the whole Cara Dune episode. Personally, I highly doubt they're finished with the Mando season 1 and 2 lines, especially with no season 2 in 2021. Luke and Din are obvious ones, and the least interesting to me personally, and after that I reckon we'll get at least 2 more before Book of Boba.

I see that, and raise you THIS which shows black-armor Fett on at least three variant covers.

This gonna be confusing as hell: "The roadmap in advance of the War of the Bounty Hunters series is a little confusing. It starts with War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 (May 5), then jumps over to Star Wars #13 (May 12), Bounty Hunters #12 (May 19), Darth Vader #12 (May 26), and Doctor Aphra #10 (May 26) before resuming with War of the Bounty Hunters #1 (June 2) thru #5, all before The Book of Boba Fett premiers on Disney+ this December. Theres even at least one spin-off, a one-shot called War of the Bounty Hunters ? Jabba the Hutt #1."

Jabba the Hutt. REALLY. O-kay. All-righty then.

But that to the side, since this series leads into "Book of," yeah let's see this most sexcellent black armor onscreen. If we see that HT will be obligated to make it, right?

Confusing is right, I've been trying to get my head around it all week. Especially when each volume has so many variant covers. Luckily they'll probably collect all of the main series, spin-offs, and single issues into a nice hardback omnibus within a year, so I'm not stressing about individual copies. However, I make a huge exception for Alpha and those Boba Fett covers. I already have 3 on order: the one pictured by matticus, the virgin variant of Turini's cover (second row, far left), and a 1:50 black armour variant (top row, 2nd from the right). I figure they'll display nicely behind my 1:4 ROTJ Boba.

As for Snyder directing Star Wars, that's a big no thank you from me. Hoody, you can block me now :rotfl

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

The general consensus is we'll get Luke on Star Wars day.

The question is if it'll be a recycled ROTJ head again.

Then again would people really want it to look like the chubby-faced cgi luke head they went with in the show? It's kind of a lose-lose for Hot Toys either way. Which is why I'd approach this Luke release with a lot of trepidation. I'll wait for the inevitable Sebastian Stan Luke, 18-24 months from now.

How many people would rather them go with Bespin Luke for May 4th over Mando Luke?

Sebastian Stan should've been Luke in that scene. And why not both on May the 4th?

I almost feel like they made it cgi just to gauge the reaction from the fanbase. Now everyone is begging for Sebastian Stan to play him lol

I like your thinking about May 4th, I genuinely think we could see some kind of 2-pack.

1) Mando Luke with R2
2) Mando Luke with Bespin Luke
3) Bespin Luke with Bespin Han

I'd much rather 3, would take 2, and would be underwhelmed with 1.

That seals it - it'll definitely be #1. :D

CGI Luke and R2 also allowed them to prevent spoilers since not even the actors on set knew which "Jedi" had arrived to take Grogu.

True, definitely something in that. The funny thing is Dave Filoni told all the cast members that the returning Jedi was Plo Koon haha I believe Katee Sackhoff herself said that the other night on a livestream.

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

I don't want a Luke/Grogu show. The season two ending was perfect and I don't want that watered down. Luke's character should now be permanently retired and left to imagination. A trained Jedi Grogu surprise return late in The Mandalorian series would also be far more special than if Disney were to just spoon feed the simpletons with a series.

Now if they want to do a Grogu show after The Mandalorian ends that could be interesting. But how does that work? Did Luke train him how to talk as well?

Plo Koon? I swear, I think a lot of these SW names come from scrabble tile drinking games ...

Mando Luke with R2 seems to make the most sense. Fans would be happy though with a separate Bespin Luke for sure. And if Bespin Han is announced, people will rejoice. I'd rather have the awesome Endor Han with the long jacket.

CGI Luke and R2 also allowed them to prevent spoilers since not even the actors on set knew which "Jedi" had arrived to take Grogu.

Which still makes me think we won't be seeing that Luke for a good while. But with the response from that episode, they are currently dreaming up what to do with him next as in another small cameo or movie/show.

So, who?s going to return Grogu to Din then? I guess he won?t find his own way back, you have to see Luke again for that to happen.

How?s it spoonfeeding simpletons to want to see much, or some of, Luke?s EU story adapted in live-action? You really want our last memory of Luke to be a whinging little coward stuck on an island because he tried to kill his emo nephew? The character deserves some justice, and his Mando appearance certainly began to address that. Does it make up for the ****show of a character we saw in the ST? Absolutely not! Sorry but a 2 minute cgi Luke appearance makes up for nothing in my book.

I just think they will screw Luke up even further unless Favreau handles EVERYTHING. And after the Kennedy Lucasfilm camp reaction to Luke's return I'm sure they will try to sabotage anything that involves retconning anything to do with the ST. So long as Kennedy is in charge I have zero faith Disney Star Wars can do Luke properly.

I get where you?re coming from with KK, I?m just not sure she?s as in charge anymore as they?re trying to make out she is. Yeah, it?s Favreau and Filoni or nothing with regards to handling Luke. They seem to have given KK the High Republic to swing her **** at while those with half a braincell get on with plotting the Mandoverse. Also, despite his denials I think Feige is playing a much much larger role than he?s making out. Sadly they?ll never retcon those dreadful movies, but that have nearly 30 years to play with in-between where they can make us forget much of what we saw in them. At the end of the day Disney and KK are purely about money and they?d happily sell their own grandmothers if they spot a way of making a few extra bucks.

This. I can never forgive what TLJ did. Favreau is trying things around and even that took me til just recently to watch it. Time to just give us some badass, inspirational Luke stuff so we can all enjoy what he really is about.

While I do agree KK is the worst thing for SW, Favreau I'm sure uses facts and intelligence in his justification for driving the Mando show. Facts put the stupid ones in a corner and with Favreau's resume, it is best to leave him alone and do his thing. It is clear he is the driving force on the show. Watch the roundtables from the Mando show. Favreau is in charge of Mando and KK is there just to get him what he needs.
