Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

I'm excited to get a mando-era Boba but I'm currently waiting to see what results from Book of Fett
The current two pack is neat and I love the headsculpt but it's a lot of money, and ultimately I'd be fine with just one figure that includes a headsculpt rather than a two pack, which I assume will come after Book
If they released no-armor Boba with his pain-stick standalone I could be tempted to get that, annoying that it's not available standalone yet the armored one is
but since I already have an ESB Fett the second armored figure wouldnt be distinct enough to be worth it for me
two pack exclusives create annoying situations

So, hands up, how many people in here (other than Malgus) want to see Rian Johnson directing an episode of The Mandalorian. I for one would welcome shirtless Mandos, Din throwing Grogu over his shoulder, space horses, and Boba Fett being a complete ***** hiding away cowering in Jabba's Palace. Just imagine the subverting of expectations that could happen?! Possibilities galore.

Just in case anyone didn't realise that was sarcasm if they ever let this twonk anywhere near The Mandalorian I'm checking out of Disney Star Wars for good. God, I hate this smug little prick so much.

yeah yeah we get it you're eternally triggered by clickbait youtube junk
does every single thread need to be crapped up with this stuff?
it wouldnt be the end of the world if the man just directed an episode
it's not like he'd be the showrunner planning the series trajectory or doing any writing
he both wrote and directed TLJ, in that case he had basically full creative control
if he directed an episode of mando all he would be doing is directing an episode someone else wrote in a series someone else is running, it would be perfectly fine
folks like you keep threatening to check out of star wars for good but you never do
hope he does direct an episode just to see people come crawling back like always

I'd welcome Rian Johnson to direct an episode, he's a skilled director but shouldn't of been given the keys to TLJ. ST unfortunately had a ton of issues but not having a concrete story for each episode done before making the first film is definitely up there as one of the biggest issues.

None of that is happening. There is no war going on. I'd recommend following some of the respectful and well-known leakers and not watching a bunch of random YouTube clickbait videos.

Cool, glad to see you turn a blind eye and let the guy who nearly single-handedly destroyed Star Wars, and treated the fans with utter contempt, be rewarded by directing an episode of the show that saved Lucasfilm's ***** and undid his utter mess. If you're okay with that then more power to you, I know that I and many many others couldn't be so forgiving and shallow. It's a good job that Favreau has some common decency about him and would never ever allow this fraud of a filmmaker near Star Wars again.

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

Yep watch them bring in a Hammerhead or one of the other aliens into a slightly more prominent role into one of the shows next ! There's certainly enough of them to choose from !

Hammerhead would be great :rotfl Have you been listening to those pesky hack Youtubers again? :nana:

I hope they give us some proper Gamorrean fatties for this show. Put them on the Boba Fett diet and get them beefed up.

Based on no rumours whatsoever I think we're getting Qi'ra and Crimson Dawn in this show. Come on Disney get Emilia Clarke locked in to Star Wars before someone else gets her.

I would love to see more of Crimson Dawn and I'm sure somebody within lucasfilm is dying to pick up that thread from where Solo left it. Solo itself may not be getting a theatrical sequel any time soon but that's a very juicy plotline just begging to be mined.

I?m just clinging to the hope that Favreau will win this war over Kathleen the Destroyer. And yes I do see it as a war between the powers that be. No way is she happy about the influence Favreau has gained among the fans and seemingly over Star Wars in general. That?s why I think they?ve given her the High Republic, her dirty fingers are all over it. Placate her (and those fans that joined the fanbase in 2015... for obvious reasons) with that while Favreau, Filoni, and Feige (from the shadows) plot the real future of Star Wars. Sometimes I think some so-called fans love Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson and his crap film more than they do the well-being and future of Star Wars. Just check out some of the regular beauts over on Reddit some time, I?ll warn you though it?s nauseating.

It's a strange sad fantasy you've concocted where you believe Jon Favreau is on your side as part of some shadow collective against the tyranny of Emperor Kennedy in an imaginary war over equally imaginary space wizards. The real world doesn't work like your angry fanfiction, Lucasfilm isn't a castle full of dramatic royalty all plotting for control of the beskar throne.

It's a business, Kathleen Kennedy is still the boss despite people like you claiming for years that she'd been fired, she's the one who ultimately hired both Johnson AND Favreau, and some projects will simply come out better than others due to the creatives involved and the choices made along the way. Favreau & Filoni were great gets and we all wish they'd been consulted sooner, but it's still all happening beneath the same management. It's really not as exciting as neckbeards on youtube would like you to believe as they take your gullible clicks straight to the bank.

Yeah - it?s pretty pathetic. At least I get a good laugh out of it every now and then.

You should probably find some other hobbies. Maybe take up baking or golf. This level of anger and obsession cannot be healthy.

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

The point is Mandalorian doesn't need him. Its a success despite his contribution to the franchise.

The fact that hes so polarizing to half the audience would only serve to alienate fans further.

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

I don't know who sits by who at lunch in the Disney cafeteria but there are definitely two groups trying to make Star Wars content. Favreau and crew seem to respect fans and the Star Wars franchise and also seem to be mainly interested creating compelling stories and exciting new characters.

In contrast you have Kennedy and her hired entourage who clearly hate Star Wars fans and actively attempt to undermine the parameters, mythos, and heroes of the franchise. They don't care about good storytelling, they only care about their agenda. They don't care about Star Wars period, they never did, they just latched on to it because NOBODY would care about any of the laughably awful content they create independently without the Star Wars name. These are the creative geniuses that gave you a literal rock for a navigator to assist an asexual pilot.

And, and!!! They are interested in returning much loved characters to current canon, frustrating many FB naysayers and delighting fans of said characters.

Its hard to disagree with a statement that insightful. And truthful.

So i wont disagree. Selah.

You've obviously never worked in upper management of a big company, but politics are a part of daily life in pretty much every company. Especially from up and coming talented people towards an incompetent boss.

Kennedy has clearly shown her incompetence with the ST, the admission of having no plan, the number of directors fired, the lack of understanding of Star Wars and her clear want to use Star Wars as a way to consistently promote some political agenda. The list goes on. These are all clear facts coming from interviews of Kathleen Kennedy herself or from actual happenings.

Have a look at that Mandalorian "Disney Gallery" where Faverau and Kennedy etc are together at the table. There is clear tension there.

To think all is rainbows and unicorns with her is very nieve.

Couldn't agree more, however I want to pick up on the point of yours I bolded. Quite honestly I don't care if I get a site ban for being ''political'', I'm going to say it anyway. These KK defending hypocrites need to hear it, even though it'll undoubtedly fall on deaf ears. How does a rich billionaire white woman, married to a rich billionaire white man, identify with the struggles of any of these people she claims to be fighting the cause of? She's a fraud, a faux defender of minorities and the victimised. Just look no further than her treatment of John Boyega as evidence of her hypocrisy. Yeah, we'll have Finn front and centre of the Force Awakens poster to show how progressive and pro-black we are. We'll even pretend in the trailers that we have a black male Jedi, that'll fool them. Remind me again what they did with John Boyega on the Asian movie poster for the Force Awakens? Oh yeah that's right they ****ing minimised him because they didn't think having a black main character would sit well with Asian audiences. So progressive Kathleen! Then where to even start with the High Republic and having a ''sexy'' a-sexual male with a rock (an inaminate object) as a pet. How ****ing insulting to those who identify as a-sexual! It's just all one big farce and too many people are prepared to join in the hypocricy and defend her.

Btw here are the movie posters, they speak volumes. Mods will delete this but you really should allow these people to see the hypocrisy of their words and KK worship.

That?s a big diatribe that will certainly get deleted for its presentation rather than message honestly. And why conflate defending someone with worshiping them is the big question? :dunno

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

Why care that much, one way or another about Kathleen Kennedy? Surely people have more important things in their lives.

Lucasfilim is insanely profitable for Disney under her leadership. She isn't going anywhere. Find something more important to get worked up about.

Every thread in this section of the forum eventually diluted into a ***** fest about Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson.

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

...You know, I'm just gonna say this tho. I'm currently plowing through the Doctor Aphra TPBs. And you know what? This is really my first exposure to Star Wars, er... differing sexualities, including cross-species stuff. Never seen this stuff in SW content before. And yet somehow! It does not derail the plot, its not IN YOUR FACE. Its just presented matter-of-factly, and its not done in a stupid manner such as BEHOLD!!! OUR SENTIENT ROCK PILOT, which you cannot tell me different, was done purely for shock value. So it does not bother me.

Sentient spacer rocks are not shocking. They just stretch my suspension of disbelief too far, and thus become stupid.

I dont care if Aphra has a crush on a female Imperial officer. You go, girl. If the writing is good enough you can get away with murder. And these books are funny as hell. I love Aphra, she is definitely different. YMMV of course. Super hoping we see her in BoBF.

[I'm also reading the Darth Vader TPBs which are another kettle of fish. TPB #1 is some of the best content ever. That book is mind-bending. I feel so sorry for Anakin, really. He has the Force.... And he has lost every. single. other. thing. in his life, and Palps treats him like a Door Dash delivery person on top of that. Just horrible to him. I really feel bad for him! And yet he still, years later, is not seeing where things went so wrong.]

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

Sorry but I have been on this forum long enough to know if a Star Wars movie with black producers/writers/and cast was made this forum would have an absolute heart attack and would never stop crying about how ?SJWs ruined Star Wars? more than they already do.

I find the attacks above about KK so deeply disingenuous because you are using a lack of diversity to justify feeling mad about the sequel trilogy and aren?t actually advocating for an inclusive story in the Star Wars cannon. You are using your arguments as a back door to lob criticism (deserved or not) at KK, and are not actually wanting Lucas film to have a more diverse Star Wars universe.

Re: Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mando" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi" + "The Book of Boba F

The amount of Mandalorian figure releases compared to the ST says it all.

Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

I think that has WAY more to do with Hot Toys jamming way too many figures into The Force Awakens causing a glut of TFA figures to sit on store shelves for a while. They didn't need every variation of every trooper in the movie as a release up front. Part of that is retailers ordering so much but still Hot Toys' fault for creating so many releases instead of just keeping it simple.

Hot Toys supported The Force Awakens like they were Hasbro. They really should have probably done more TLJ figures but by that point there's only so much they can do with all the TFA figures still sitting around.

With RoS, I would agree that by that point, collecting fans not liking the movies got to them.

This x 1000.

Sideshow was sitting on Force Awaken troops for years.

Here's a novel idea: You do not speak for the entire fandom. AND!!! you do not magically know the hearts of all other fans. Its silly to claim that you do.

I reject in its totality the idea that one must endlessly tout The Party Line, or one is an *enemy.* That insistence on lockstep is in fact how you drive potential allies away. How about you relax? And let things be judged on their MERITS. If its good, it will flourish. If its not, it wont.

People did not like Finn or the sequel trilogy, not because a Black guy or an Asian woman was in it. Dont be stupid. They dont like it because really, its not all that good. HAD THESE CHARACTERS BEEN HANDLED WELL, IT WOULD HAVE DONE WELL. Don't blame the fans. Blame the decision-makers who made Rose one of the most annoying people I have ever seen onscreen. Second perhaps only to that endlessly-screaming lead character in "The Blair Witch."

Don't in essence tell me what I think. You dont even know me.
