Agreed. I know fans always want everything to be a direct translation, but I think they were trying to avoid this looking too much like a cartoon character, with the same over-exaggerated features as everyone else on Clone Wars.
Yep. As good as the adjusted looks, it just too cartoony.

As in the previously shared photo of the same species (from the live action movie), mouth should be lower, and there shouldn't be nose bulge.
Much like humans, isn't it possible for different Duros (I think that's his species) to have different and exaggerated features? I'm ok with him not being a dead ringer for the Duros in the cantina, plus he's really old. Comparing a 20 year old human to an 80 year old human (even photos of the same person) would represent quite a contrast. I'm good with Bane as they presented him. NOW BRING ON THE TOY!!!

In fact, I think Disney will use Luke's deepfake for the first 10 years of ROTJ appearances, but it will change when Luke reaches 30(5 years from the Mandalorian), who knows maybe fan favorite Sebastian Stan might get the part.
This is gonna become his next look: white underclothes, black vest and brown boots.

Fans at home putting Lucasfilm people to sham. In one day mind you. I seen another vid syncing up the voice better too. Might be the same guy and the video looks great. Thought the nose looked rather wide for Cad. The smaller eyes looks more menacing. Darker gauntlets look better too.

I'm still not a fan of these all black Jedi robes he's wearing. It was one thing for him to wear that black flightsuit in ROTJ, since he was still functioning as a general in the Rebel Alliance, but even then it was usually supplemented with a gray vest or traditional brown robe.

These robes just seem weird and out of place to me. Especially in the lush surroundings we see in this episode.

I think it’s important to realize just how stylized the clone wars animation was. Had that come out before any of the prequel films were cast, we’d like be slightly disappointed too. People would probably have been calling for Christopher Lee to have a prosthetic nose that was much bigger and his beard should have come to a point. But when we have the live action look first, it’s easy to see the stylized touches and liberties taken.

The only thing I felt truly off on Bane was the skin tone. That may just be the direct sunlight of the scene or maybe as someone suggested Duros’ coloring fades with age. And I’m fine with that explanation. But overall I’m very pleased with the translation from animated to live action on him.

The pale blue actually looks better to me. It makes him look scarier. As for the gauntlets, only the darkest of blues will look like that under a desert sun. It will look almost black under normal lighting. The fan edit has the better nose though.

Much prefer this tweaked version to what we got. Oh well. At least we have him in live action, even if I don't like the redesign.

Cobb Vanth is even more of a certainty for me now, and hopefully for Howard too!

Black Crustacean would look great as a figure.

Never have been much of a Cad Bane fan, but I was prepared to be tempted. But I wasn't. Like you, I thought he was anaemic and underwhelming. He's also a bit too much of a cartoon character, considering that he's so obviously a cartoon version of Lee Van Cleef's Colonel Mortimer/Angel Eyes.

Cobb Vanth, Cad Bane and Black Kazakhstan are certainties for me, unless they manage to really screw up the characters. Design-wise, they look great, especially if Cobb gets some armor for the finale.

I think he'd look stupid with a massive hat in live action, some things just don't work as well. For a live action Cad Bane I think what we got is pretty much what I would have expected. I wouldn't change anything about it myself.

Agreed. If that hat was any larger, the "Urban Sombrero" jokes would have been flying throughout the forum....

There's things I like and don't like about the show. It's given us some great moments while being... uneven at best in other ways.

But this episode made me think they could've saved themselves a lot of trouble by calling the show something else.

Since it honestly feels more like an anthology series at this point, I would've called it Tales of the Bounty Hunters and reworked each episode to focus on a different bounty hunter with Boba Fett tying the narrative together.

The general story could be done similarly overall, just with an opening episode to set up the premise, then Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Black Krrsantan, Din Djarin, and Cad Bane each get episodes from their perspectives, then the finale.

Could've even remade the book cover with the characters.

Excellent idea. I'm totally in agreement.

As nice and accurate as these edits are, I still kinda dig the official live action cad bane. There’s something about it that works for me.

Of course hot toys won’t give us the clone wars version.
I’d love for them to offer a deluxe version with an animated head/hat, gauntlets and rocket boots to more or less pull off both looks.

If nothing else, maybe Sideshow will release a fully animated version to go with Obi-wan and Anakin.

Seeing all these characters pop up, now might be the time to watch the clone wars
