HOT TOYS "Dog Alien" ALIEN3 FIGURE!!!

Yeah, I loved my Aliens figure when I got it...now I look at it in sadness.

The Dog Alien is one of my fav gieger alien design and I was thinking of getting this to be my first HT Alien.
It is supposed to crawl, but the prototype pics looks like it cant even bend itself into a decent crawling pose.

And I agree on the tail bit, it should be longer

Hmm... not looking so hot.
The legs look very odd, and it doesn't look like they have much articulation. I'll wait until we see more/better pics.

This is a big concern for me. I took a very close look at that at the con as articulation is one of the primary key factors for me. This figure looks very "McFarlane-esque" in that department. I will VERY likely cancel the 2 I have ordered If this is the case.

But, as a completist, I may also find a place for it somewhere in the background of a display.

Edit - The reason that I can find a use for it is thatere are so many different Aliens because of what they use for a host, that I can easily imagine that this one used an un-known life form, and thus, the unusual appearance. And the lack of articulation can be overlooked by knowing that I have enough of the Aliens that I can re-pose to make me forget about this one.

I'll still likely cancel it, though, because of the cost.

Well, I'm not jumping on the "HT Alien hater bandwagon" here...I like it.

But, I'm not as picky as some. I do like accuracy, but not in ALL of my Alien collectibles. If that was the case, if every different collectible looked EXACTLY like the character, it would be a pretty boring collection.

Kudos to Hot Toys for being a bit "inventive" with their Aliens.

I can't wait to see what they do with Giger's Alien.

How ridiculous is your pre-order list? I was working mine out on paper today. Almost 2000euro worth. A good bit of that is shipping mind you.

Hmmm... not too impressed with it so far. I was really hoping for more articulation... but maybe in hand it will be more impressive. I'll probably hold off on ordering until I get some in-hand reviews.

hmmmmm I'm a huge alien fan, much more so than a predator fan, and I wasn't able to get the aliens alien figure, which from what I heard isn't that great in the long run, but i have the AVP alien and that thing rocks. the rubber body suit and tail kicks ass. and the rubber molded feet don't bother me either. I would get this guy if i liked alien 3, but I do not, and i never liked the design, the concept is cool, an alien that changes based on it's prey, but a dog alien just doesn't seem cool to me. but i'm very much looking forward to hot toys ALIEN... the ALIEN. if it's like the AVP alien figure, i'll like it, alot. what do people think of the ALIENS alien compared to the AVP alien?

I like it (the AvP version) better on grounds of durability and accuracy.
But the Aliens warrior has much better articulation and the (artistic interpretation notwithstanding) design is much more ferocious looking.

I sent a link to this thread to my HT friends and let them know there are a lot of concerns for this figure. I was emailed back and told this is an early prototype prepared for SDCC and that alot more R+D was planned before manufacturing and release. So it looks like the dragon may be more accurate after all.

Thanks wookster. It is good to know that this is only the prototype and that the final product will be better than what was shown at SDCC.

However, I still cannot understand the price increase considering the fact that this figure comes with no accessories at all. Not even a facehugger.

I preordered one anyway, IT'S A 1/6 ALIEN! Duh. But I do hope things get resolved about it before mine is made and ships.
It's been weighed, and been found wanting.
Hope HT tightens up.
