Why do you think we havent seen any pre orders yet?:D

They listen, all of us want a non camo head,so im sure thats what HT are working on.

The camo head doesnt bother me as I'll still end up getting one of Lonnie's Hero Heads anyway which is bound to have a more accurate likeness. Need to know what kinda neck-plug we'll need before we order one though.

But I guess his cigar won't fit inot a custom head, not that it looks particularly convincing stuck to the standard camo-head anyway.

There is nothing they can do if Arnold doesn't give his approval. Look what happened to Kane after all those months of waiting :monkey4

HT better not release pics of a screen accurate Dutch with the words "headsculpt not final pending approval" this time! Finalize the sculpt and then release pics! Greedy, tricky !@#$%^

Because they haven't been approved yet. Who knows, they might not release them at all.

They already did:lol. That sculpt obviously wasn't approved and caused them trouble.

Well they weren't exactly screen accurate. Heavy camo on the faces and Dutch had the wrong hair color.....guess it was still accurate enough to get them in trouble though :monkey4

The paint might not have been accurate but the sculpt was exactly Arnold.

What i don't understand is this; haven't there been many Schwarzenegger figures on the market already? I mean i have 10 year old terminator figures with the likeness of Schwarzenegger. So why is his likeness so hard to get suddenly?

That is why it is troubling. Hot Toys may be busy trying to re-sculpt the Arnold Head to "reduce" the likeness even as we discuss this issue here! Who knows, they may even throw in a mustache!! :horror

Yeah that's what worrying me aswell. I definately think they are doing just that. I don't really need a Dutch with a mustache thank you:lol.

Meanwhile cheap-ass NECA releases Conan figures with an accurate Schwarzenegger likeness but high-end Hot Toys can't get it. What a world:monkey2.

I am wondering if all these "face likeness" issues are due to Hot Toys refusing to pay the licensing and rights fees despite us buyers paying top $$ for the Hot Toys Figures.

I think you might be right, it explains why NECA can produce them and HT can't. Would be incredibly cheap-ass of HT though.

This is one I would definitely be sending for a repaint... looks like Arnold in the sculpt, but the heavy camo is no fun.

Lets just hope he doesn't end up with a mustache :lol

That seems to be the only thing that might make sense. Otherwise, like others have said, Neca also wouldn't be able to get the lisence. Hell, Sideshow wouldn't be able to make similar 6th scale figures or lifesize busts, either.

HT will change their behaviors when people stop buying figures that have absolutely no likeness. I hope Kane sits on the shelves forever.

True, Kane should become a hard lesson for HT.

You know HT,they always want to improve their work.

I half expect him to come with nice long sideburns and a full goatee beard.

Did I miss an announcement of a Neca Dutch figure from Predator? Last I heard, they are producing Arnold figures from CONAN, not Predator...?

It's a completely different license. You can't just go out and buy an umbrella "Arnold" license that allows you to produce any character he's ever portrayed. No company... I repeat, no company, is producing a Predator Dutch figure with a licensed Arnie likeness.

HT is not the odd one out for not securing Arnie's likeness for this figure... On the contrary, they are the only company that's even attempted it. I understand the disappointment of not getting Arnie's likeness on this Dutch figure (I'd love to see it as much as anyone), but let's at least try to understand the situation a little before chasing the wrong party with torches and pitchforks.

Human character likeness rights from PREDATOR have been, and will always be, virtually impossible to obtain. This is not news. Nor is the fact that Arnold's status as a "public figure" does not give a company automatic rights to use his likeness on a Dutch figure.

I give HT kudos for even trying to make it work... If they change the sculpt/paint to obscure the likeness, it's only an attempt to keep a friendly relationship with FOX so they can continue to produce these kick-ass figures from their properties.
