Sorry Lerath666 but complaining about the price and then saying straight away that you'll pay it anyway make me sad that HT will continue to jack prices cos people pay it without blinking

I don't see then why they are waiting so long to produce figures from licenses they've paid for, customers are demanding and the aren't supplying.

Not going to argue with that, but with this articular piece, It's Star wars, it will sell, unfortunately, at WHATEVER price hot toys asks.

Even if they asks a grand, it would STILL sell. I would be priced out of being able to afford it, but It would sell.

So if i want this piece at all, I've simply got to wince, and take it.
Because waiting for it to go down in price, is not going to yield anything.

Uh-uh they've chosen to be limited by developing some more than others, if at all. :monkey1

They could do less of some and more of others, works out the same in terms of manpower

Now that is something i can agree with completely.
It's been a year since MGS was announced.. and we have not seen ANYTHING from that line yet.

They're still limited by manpower no matter how you look at it though. What one person sees as a limitation may be viewed as a want by another. Sales determines that.

Using the IM license as an example, they're really deep into that. I may view that as a limitation because I want different stuff but all IM figs sell like hot cakes so others obviously don't have the same view as me.

They could be selling me the figures I want too but there just isn't enough manpower to get it all done. At least not to the quality level that their known for.

I'm just happy to finally see an HT Star Wars figure on the horizon. :lol

It could also be a timing issue with Sideshow. For example, they may want to hit us with a double wammy of a Bespin Chamber environment to pair up with the figure, or even, dare I say it...an ESB Vader?

That's possible. Now, I wonder if HT is developing a Hoth Han for the upcoming Tauntaun.

Supply and demand I guess. In 2006, when I really started collecting 1:6, I was just searching for figures to fill my shelves. Now I'm struggling to find the space for what I want.

1:6 collecting is booming right now. Honestly from a business stand point Hot Toys, Medi and SS would be crazy not to take advantage while they can.

They are in it to make money after all, and the few that are being "priced out" are probably being replaced by the many that are just now getting into this hobby.

For me I'm just being a bit more choosy when it comes to what I get instead of thinking I need to buy every cool figure produced.

An HT Luke is a must buy to me and I don't see them going over $300 for this.

I agree with everything you just said :lecture

New pics to prove that the battle damaged version is so much better than the clean sculpt

Odd how they look sooo different. The regular is a nice looking sculpt, just doesn't really look like Hammil. But the other one is spot-on :rock

I like both sculpts. Even though the battle damage does look more accurate. In this pic he BD looks a bit weird. Probably the camera angle but I'm stoked to see the final product and hear a pre order date.

hmm BD head looks different. like the eyebrows arent as angry and the hair looks like it got a trim? i dont know might be the angle. they need to fix the clean sculpt. leave that perfect BD alone

The hair piece on the battle damaged Luke is clearly not on correctly... As for the regular, I agree that the likeness is far too idealized, but I'll take it because it will sure look better than the Sideshow version (great sculpt but seriously lacking in the paint dept.).

Wow! What are these pictures from? Is this just the prototype sent to a photographer for publicity shots?

And I do agree that the sculpt is not quite right yet. But funnily enough, I'm not as bothered by that than I am by Indy's sculpt. I guess that just goes to show you that one's level of pickiness corresponds to one's level of interest in the character. Indy is my absolute favourite movie character, while Luke is just "eh" to me.
