Absolutely do not need or care about light up sabers. Its just one more thing for Hot Toys to jack up the price some more for you something I will maybe use once. Just like the lights on Iron Man, Dallas & Kane or the T-800 endo. Flick em on once and that's it. Cool for about five minutes, the meh.

Its also one more thing to go wrong. Sometimes simple is better.

:goodpost: :exactly: :lecture

it may not be for some, but the medicom UU lightsabre is actually quite good. I rather have it then not.

I'm with you guys on the "don't care for light up sabers". I love light up features on statues but not on figures.

"This collectible figure actually contains two newly developed head sculpts with Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS), two figure bodies, and two styles of specially made costume. The set also comes with a specially made light-up stand with Cloud City scene and a stand that can be hung on the wall. That is - one set comprises two DX figures and stands."

Holy Crap!!! Expensive is right, that might be too much cash to have to fork out.

Yeah the fact that Howard keeps saying in interviews that it "TWO DX figures in one package" is really getting me concerned on the price for this figure.

Me to because I really want this. One thing for sure is that this is going to be the most expensive Dx to date.

Thank SS for Flexpay.

I hope it's affordable but really for a great figure like this will be, it does not matter to me the cost. If I have to have it I will find a way.

What's the alternative? Boycott Hot Toys? Not likely. Besides you know it will be worth every penny so why fight it. Of course we would all like to go back to the SS days when getting a new figure was only $50.00 away but we have crossed that bridge. There is no going back. You can either accept the new price points or get out of collecting these figures. It sucks but these are the facts. If you think HT does not know this they do. To think otherwise is folly.

Thats my point. They know people will buy because there is no alternative. But making comments saying Ill buy at any cost is a bit silly. I mean (now this wont happen BUT...) if HT priced this at $1000.oo would you still buy? Theres a certain point where a collector has to say...."No." :lol

You are right. And I agree you $1000.00 is excessive. A few years ago if you asked most people would you pay $200.00 or $250.00 for a figure they would have said hell no. Now it's common place. Unfortunately that is the reality. Inflation, quality, and accessories are just a few of the reasons for price hikes. This hobby is fast becoming an exclusive club for more wealthier folks than I.

My point is that unless we as a collecting community demand lower prices and stop buying these figures at their ever increasing costs there will never be a reduction. I seriously doubt we could organize at that level of commitment to benifit the collecting community as a whole because there will always be those who will buy it at any price. Not me but some. I don't like it either but what can we do about it?
