What? I'm still going to pay it, i'm just wondering what Else I may have to miss out on to afford them. I've got a very specific collectibles budget.

Thankfully Hot toys is ONLY going to be putting out SW figures a year, TOPS. So it'll be a limited line, and we're ONLY going to see characters that sideshow has either already released, or is a LONG way out from doing ( like Chewie).
I'm Eager to see what they come up with, I'm just not eager to be forced to skip other pieces.

related note, , SOO happy they're not giving him a Light-up fleshlight.

You are right. And I agree you $1000.00 is excessive. A few years ago if you asked most people would you pay $200.00 or $250.00 for a figure they would have said hell no. Now it's common place. Unfortunately that is the reality. Inflation, quality, and accessories are just a few of the reasons for price hikes. This hobby is fast becoming an exclusive club for more wealthier folks than I.

My point is that unless we as a collecting community demand lower prices and stop buying these figures at their ever increasing costs there will never be a reduction. I seriously doubt we could organize at that level of commitment to benifit the collecting community as a whole because there will always be those who will buy it at any price. Not me but some. I don't like it either but what can we do about it?

Indeed. It is futile to resist.
That is why I will most likely get it at any cost as well.

:lol

Where did all the it won't be that much people now?:monkey1

They've been replaced by the "if it's THAT expensive, I'll tell HT to stick it where the sun don't shine" people. Seriously. I've seen quite a few people saying that they are right on the verge of being priced out of the hobby within the next year. Not just a single figure, but the entire hobby. I'm finding myself among those. I'm running out of space, and the ever increasing prices that have been escalating even above the rate of inflation (which is pretty bad) are just becoming insulting. And justifying it with licensing fees may have some shred of truth, but the plain fact is that this is a money grab.

Absolutely do not need or care about light up sabers. Its just one more thing for Hot Toys to jack up the price some more for you something I will maybe use once. Just like the lights on Iron Man, Dallas & Kane or the T-800 endo. Flick em on once and that's it. Cool for about five minutes, the meh.

Its also one more thing to go wrong. Sometimes simple is better.

I agree. Just make Luke and the accessories he had on Bespin and screw all the rest of the junk that would remain in the box.

Bespin Luke is my favorite version of the character, but thing is going to be $300.

Other than the sculpt, the SS one is good enough.

Supply and demand I guess. In 2006, when I really started collecting 1:6, I was just searching for figures to fill my shelves. Now I'm struggling to find the space for what I want.

1:6 collecting is booming right now. Honestly from a business stand point Hot Toys, Medi and SS would be crazy not to take advantage while they can.

They are in it to make money after all, and the few that are being "priced out" are probably being replaced by the many that are just now getting into this hobby.

For me I'm just being a bit more choosy when it comes to what I get instead of thinking I need to buy every cool figure produced.

An HT Luke is a must buy to me and I don't see them going over $300 for this.

How do you figure 2 complete DX figures in one box will be less than $300??

Also ,if it was more why wouldnt they release 2 different DX ,instead of bundling them into one box.that way i guess they couldve sold at 200+ for each . i dunno,,just thinking out allowed:slap

Don't forget the 2 stands as well! Ya this price is goin to be HIGH. if its in the 300's then I'm sure it won't be any lower than 399. I mean dx jones was 250?! I can't afford this guy on principal alone if he's higher than 299. My cut off was the 250 mark.. That really hurts cause I wanted the 89 joker. :gah:

300$ would be nice, but as for just not seeing it going over that price.... people were saying they didn't see the batmobille going over 500$ either.

They were shocked too.

Predicting it now.
400$ on the low end
and that makes me has a sad. :(

What? I'm still going to pay it.

Sorry Lerath666 but complaining about the price and then saying straight away that you'll pay it anyway make me sad that HT will continue to jack prices cos people pay it without blinking

I don't see then why they are waiting so long to produce figures from licenses they've paid for, customers are demanding and the aren't supplying.
