"Oh wait... was she a great big fat person?"
Every time I see pics of the beat up Luke I love this thing more and more. HT did a great job on that sculptures, but the regular Luke is a bit off not enough to pass this up.
Taking it one step further let me try and think of the definitive figure for each year of the 80's:
1980: HT Bespin Luke/SSC Boba Fett
1981: HT Raiders Indy DX
1982: SSC Commando Snake Eyes (not yet previewed)
1983: SSC Emperor Palpatine/Jabba
1984: HT Tech Noir Terminator
1985: HT Marty McFly?
1986: HT Hicks/Ripley w/Power Loader
1987: HT Predator/Robocop
1988: Medicom Kaneda w/bike
1989: HT Keaton Batman/Nicholson Joker
I prefer the Iron Man base to the new one, i'm thinking it has to light up, otherwise why would it be so thick?
1988 would have to be McClane. So where is he?
Kaneda who?
Kaneda is from AKIRA, probably the most groundbreaking animated film of the decade.

I'm guessing the live-acton AKIRA will come and go just like Tron: Legacy did. Still haven't seen that movie and it doesn't seem like it had any significant cultural impact.
I enjoyed it.![]()
Nothing wrong with that. I enjoyed "Cowboys and Aliens" but I honestly couldn't tell you what either Daniel Craig or Harrison Ford's characters' names were in that movie. The new Tron seemed to have about the same impact. I look forward to catching it some day, I'm just not in any rush.

It's mostly eye candy. Mostly.
