I'm all for HT doing PT Star Wars, cause no matter how awesome they turn out, I won't be tempted to buy them in any way! More money saved - and I love this idea!

:goodpost: I only hope they show the next one soon, and have a release date for 2013, so at the most, I'd be getting HT Han in 2014.

I still think Chewie can be done at this point, with fine hair and sculpting gel to control the fur look, I think it could work. Of course, no one has tried yet, but I'd easily pay $300 for a HT or SS Chewie.

I dont see how a full body suit over a specially tailered True Type body would be a problem for HT to achieve. If they can get the head to look right is the major deal. Body with fur shouldnt be that tough for them imo.
Well, that's where we differ I guess.

There are a few factors to consider - shrinking Chewie's iconic look down to 1/6 scale - & nailing it with fur, would be far from easy. I'm sure there are various types of fake hair to choose from, but getting it to look & sit right requires some concentrated R&D to make it consistently high end with each piece. Durability / longevity is another issue. I don't see a completely fur covered figure, holding up over time - if they get it to look right in the first place.

My preference, would definitely be something along the lines of the look of the Attackus statue, with a ton of intricate hair sculpture (I'd pay the money :lecture), with much softer, more malleable medium around the joints that not only allows good movement, but covers said joints as well - something other exposed jointed figures haven't been able to take advantage of yet by the nature of their character's look / design.

Honestly - I'll never be on board for a furry figure.

I'm good with my Clone Wars Chewie figure. It's just great. As for HT Luke - can't wait to see the box, if they've updated the sculpt, everything.

I just pulled out the old furry Bantha that Hasbro made in 1998 out of a dusty box in my storage unit outside, and it's just as good as the day I got it.

Yep, I'm dying to see how they do the box for their first Star Wars figure! With the diorama, two bodies, and other accessories, I'm assuming it will be as big as, if not bigger, than the DX04 and DX05 boxes. I hope to be blown away :)

Well, as I said - depending on what type of faux hair is potentially used, will determine it's longevity.

Look at it in perspective though.. that Hasbro Bantha, is a regular toy - made to withstand a bit of rough housing. The hair on that thing is scruffy & coarse - you think a high end HT piece would be made to similar specs? :lol

I dont have on order but wish this one came with the light up saber..,I think if obi wan gets one this one should've been included even if thier differnt companies...They know we want a light up saber to make this one perfect...i guess i'll just buy some 1/6 light up sabers off evil bay.....

Although I really like light-up stuff, for some reason I totally don't care about the lightsabers. It might be cool if they ever figured out a way to do it with EL wire running through the plastic blade, though. Then the light would be dead even throughout and that would look pretty good, I think.

On something like Darth Vader's chest piece, I would like to see a light up feature, but a 1/6th light up lightsaber is more than likely going to look cheesy.

If I am dropping 300 bucks on this thing, I don't want any part to look awkward or cheesy.

I have a couple cathode light sabers that are AC powered. Had them custom made. Look in my collection thread (link in my sig). Unfortunately the person who made them doesnt answer my emails about new commisions anymore.

:offtopic:Also, for anyone that got the SSC Dewback-it has the faux fur on the saddles....same as the Gammy Guard skirt....just softer and not as fluffier..so....
HT AND SSC can make Chewie-the $$$$$ i spent towards all the clones should make this so ;)
Anyways,
I cannot wait for Luke to arrive-the first $300 Starwars figure!!!WOOT WOOT.
and i love both headsculpts, yet people still whine that SSC humans are a poor representation-and yet i still read the same for non battle damaged Luke sculpt....:slap

Haters gonna HATE.

Wow, incredible collection and display, Wake. Have to say that lightsaber is actually even better than I imagined. Hadn't thought of cold cathode (or even thought it came that thin) but it's perfect and better than the EL wire would be. That's a shame your source appears to have tired of making them. I'd definitely have been down for a few for Vader, Luke and Ben. Really high impact and adds a lot to your display.

I think the fur would be ok if they conditioned it with something to make it stiffer and stay in place, like the water treatment but permanent

I agree. This is my phone wallpaper that I see everyday and am amazed by its detail and accuracy. View attachment 51978
I switched my Medicom Jedi Luke over to a ZCWO Carson Slim and can't wait to try this.

Sorry about the bad photo chop.

regarding the cathode sabers there is a tutorial thread. I ordered some a ways back and paid well for them. But now i get to make them to my exact liking. Before they were on older hilts or weren't quite the color/shade I wanted.

I just tried to switch my order to FlexPay and it said call to cancel/change order.

Does that happen automatically once the 30-day notice is in effect? Or does it mean it will be happening in much fewer than 30 days?
