Right, so SSC dont just send it via the normal Australia Post, but use FedEx couriers?

Pretty much everyone is telling me to relax and that it should all be OK from SSC direct, even if it's just in the HT brown shipper. Maybe I'll just order it

I think the item is worth the risk,especially the EX

Yeah thats my only nitpick with this figure, But since I dont plan on displaying him Dagobah style Im not that upset about it.

Though I can see a few people modding the head to fit a Bruce Lee muscle body, so it can be possible.

Agreed. The body is ugly but like you I have no intention of displaying him without the jacket.

SS Obi Wan was my first SS figure if I remember correctly...him or Indy...I got them close around the same time. Glad I got him when I did though. Hope you can find one! It is one of SS better human releases!

It's a modified episode 1 green R2 unit. It needs a bit of TLC paintwise. R2-D2's dome isn't that chrome I believe, but it looks good. I can touch up the paint on it if you're interested. PM me.

A couple people contacted me about one but the deal didn't pan out for reasons I won't say here. So I'm still on the hunt.

Definitely think it's one of the best SS releases. I think the sculpt is fantastic.

My Uncle and Aunt sent cash from Australia to the UK and it always arrives safely and that's just using standard post.

The outer box on these figures is quite thick, I have never had a problem with damaged boxes. Besides the inner box of Hot Toys figures is of such a high standard that it would be hard to damage them.

You know its illegal to send hard currency via post..its ok my nan send me money but its a right pain,,where i stay theres no bloody foreign exchange,and the ONE bank said they can do it,but they have to send the GPB notes away,and ill get them back 3-6 weeks WTF !!!!!!
now i just get money grams,,here in 10 minutes, from the UK,,,

Have you bought DX figures from them? Shipping out in just the brown Hot Toys shipper sounds bloody dangerous!!! Wouldnt that just get bent like crazy on its way to Australia????

I'll second the use of SS and Fedex. I recently purchased Premium Format Dutch which is a mixed media and much more susceptible to breakage than a Hot Toy plus the box is about 3 times as big. No problems at all and that was the EX which had a few problems with broken sculpts.

With FedEx without a word of a lie, you'll receive your piece possibly just as fast as people in the US with the same ship date. I've received figures as quick as 6 days. Plus you get points plus you get a return policy.

It'll come in the SS shipper, the DX boxes are as good as bullet proof and the figure is packed in foam. If your that upset about a few minor scuffings on the edges of the DX box then good luck finding a company who will ship it in lead

But does anyone know how you ask for extra protection? Do you do it before you make the order? Or since it's a preorder, I can request that after I make the order online now???

Yeah it definitely is! Id LOVE to get mine repainted by a pro here, but there too many HT coming that is sucking up all my funds.

Just buy it then contact SS about the shipping info. You can request a call back although I'm not sure how good they are at getting back to you.

If you use the forms on the SS website to contact customer service you can ask they will alway's get back to you.

Now that I think of it, it might actually be an option once you go through the purchase screens, I vaguely remember seeing a pack out option. (I've never asked for one myself)

Don't worry about it. SS are pretty good.

I'm not sure I could be happier with the way this looks. I can see some *****ing about the material used for the outfit of the proto v. production, as the proto looked to have a really nice look to the clothing but this is just about perfect otherwise. Keep um coming, HT.

Unlike Luke, there really isn't much room for HT to improve on the Sideshow Old Ben. The paint and body are really the only areas that I think they could do better (both easily fixed). And HT might give us better paint, but I bet it would be a trade off for an inferior sculpt.

I'm still really struggling to see any sort of likeness in that clean sculpt. And im definitely in the camp that thought the prototypes clothes were miles better than the finished figure. Sill, it's an awesome fig! It's luke!

For sure. No need for a new Ben, IMO... A perfect one is just a body swap and paint job away (a fat suit helps too).

Yep, Kenobi has all the parts needed to make a killer figure. Body swap, repaint and a bit of padding are all he needs

Bespin Luke is a very different case I honestly think the ANH Han can also be a great figure, but you need to remove the neck or use the Stormtrooper head (although I don't really like that one) and a boot swap helps.

Yeah really. I will have him one way or another. Although I didn't know a fat suit was necessary.
