Hasbro might not even want Star Wars anymore after 2018. I assume the Clone Wars will be over by then and without some sort of Star Wars media out there I can't imagine them being able to keep that kind of presence in toy aisles much longer. I mean they've made just about every character now and unless they make some drastic changes, I'm not sure they'd be doing anything new or worth while by then.

But if they keep raking in money, then I don't see why they wouldn't hang on to the license. I mean even GI Joe comes and goes from the toy aisle, and thats a freebie to Hasbro as far as licensing goes.

Disagree i think the medi sits better. (I just wanna know what hand he's using) They both look good enough and the sculpt works for me.

Although I like the Jedi look, IMO it's still not the right look for this HS. Although there really wasn't that much change, Hamill did have his hair a tad shorter, cut on the sides and styled just a little bit different and a little darker in ROTJ then ESB. :lecture

That said, why not someone try the hair from the battle damaged body and put it on reg face with the jedi suit, since the har seems a tad shorter on the BD sculpt.

Funny how people choose to believe what they want.

Hasbro felt it wasn't profitable enough, Sideshow knew that they could make it profitable by raising the quality appealing more to a niche collector market.

Hasbro gets first right to renew, as a matter of fact, they are planning on getting back into 12" figures with something more like what Gentle Giant is currently doing. Less articulation and less detail. They still have the license and as long as they can make money without even doing anything simply by leasing it out, they will continue to do so.

I'm not disagreeing with that concept. I just find it hard to believe that SSC is still paying Hasbro after all these years and that they would still pay Hasbro even when Hasbro has been talking about getting back into the 1:6 game for the past year or more.

Yes, the info might have been accurate when SSC employees used to post here (and explained it to all the old-timers), but something tells that things have changed.

Nothing has changed. Hasbro has that license until 2018, period. If Sideshow is continuing to make 12" Star Wars figures, its because they are continuing to lease the license through Hasbro. I don't know why that is so hard for you to understand :lol

Red what they're telling you is dead on. Its Hasbro's license which they've leased to SS which is leased to HT for certain figures only.

I hear what your saying. Honestly I think the face is good but what we need is ROTJ styled hair. Since the hair is easily removed it should be easy to swap a few more. If someone could try making a few different hair sculpts like a hand stand upside down hair and Jedi hair we would be in business. Maybe a blowing in the wind skiff battle hair as well. Any ideas?

Sideshow is letting Hot Toys only make certain characters. Its basically their way of remaking some of the key figures/characters in today's standards. Some of the older Sideshow Star Wars figures don't hold up as well to the current ones as others do. And since Sideshow isn't really big on the rehashing of old figures, they're letting someone who is excellent at that do it - Hot Toys :rotfl

Pretty much HT who loves to double back all the time might as well get a chance to do that with some of the SW figures. It allows fans who want to update to so or let fans concentrate on what SS has coming out next.

Figure looks great by the way even in the old ROTJ Luke outfit. :rock

And make sure to use the right bit and apply the right amount of pressure. HTs screws strip sooo easily

Thanks I grabbe a set of mini screwdrivers in a precision kit. Hoping its just a dead battery issue, will see soon.

Has anyone else here had the problem with the weathervane lights cutting out?

So, definitely not the batteries, they all work on blue side, none work for red side. And it's odd, they dont follow the manuals directions, the batteries only work backwards.. Just gonna call sideshow on Monday and have them replace it I guess..
