[...] The likeness on either is equally bad and they're based on the same work with the battle-damaged having only minor differences in expression (open mouth for instance). What people normally attribute to better likeness is the expression and swapping of the hair pieces.[...]

Could well be. Personality goes a long way.

People on FB (haven't checked here in the forum) are losing their collective **** over the expression on the new SSC Beetlejuice, some going so far as to say it looks nothing like Keaton. Then some post customs that look like they were sculpted with a chainsaw and painted by a finger-painting 3 year old with absolutely zero resemblance to the actor but decent rooted hair... If my faith in humanity wasn't lost so many years ago, FB would have made it so.

I don't plan on ever changing the head sculpts on my two Bespin Luke figures - I like them well enough for the time and they're part of my "as-is" collection. That's how I started collecting and how I planned to maintain most of my figures. Only with the new SW figures have I thrown that to the wind and decided I need to step it up to the next level and go custom.

R2D2 was my gateway into figures. Of course since I had an R2 I had to get a 3PO which I did. The plan was to stick to droids, I've put in a pre-order for the new Rey and BB-8 rationalizing that she comes with a droid. A tatooine Luke Skywalker, prequel obi-wan and Captain Rex later (in a month) I think I might be in trouble.

I've made a verbal agreement to buy a bespin luke for $570.00, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm having trouble logging into my paypal account. Maybe I should take it as a sign and take a break for a while.

The new Jawas look awesome, wish I had a Han and Chewie too. then I'd need a Leia too. I haven't bought any figures since the special editions of the original trilogy in he nineties so maybe this is some repressed part of my personality coming out in middle age.

Yeah, you're in trouble. Even if you'd said you'd only bought two or three figures in the past two months I'd have given the same prognosis. :)

Just tried to fit the ANH Luke LED saber to Luke Bespin and I just can't get that upper elbow joint to budge on the Luke Bespin, even with a hair dryer. Seems like it's only designed to take on that severed stump forearm using the lower elbow joint.

Can the entire elbow joint on the ANH LED arm be removed - just leaving the forearm with the switch - or is the elbow permanently attached?

Yeah, sounds like you're fully on board the 1/6 scale train to me and it's departing the station. :lol

I sold my set a while back.

And I'm very glad you did [emoji3]

Probably being really thick here but how do you change the batteries on the weather vane?

Still struggling, none of the screw drivers I have seem to budge the damn thing! I am hoping it is just the batteries that need changing, but basically the lights went all dim and the red ones flash like twice and then go out!

Make sure you're using the right size driver. The behavior might be caused by weak batteries, so fingers crossed nothing's burned out - there are no resistors on those LEDs so it's a definite possibility that they can be ruined (eventually).

I never really turned it on much tbh and went to check recently and they were playing up. Figured since it was released a while back now that the batteries had probably just diminished.

I don't really know what size screwdriver it needs? :/

A tiny philips head. Not sure of the size specifically, but one of the ones in a jeweler's/IT/precision screwdriver kit will work.

So I finally managed to get the screw out and replace the batteries (with duracells this time) and now it's working again :D
