A buddy of mine gave me one of those knock-off Luke Bespin heads he got from eBay. The eyes are the stuff of nightmares.:lol

FYI, he didn't want it because the paint comes off really easily - like even if you rub your fingernail lightly.

That's actually very true. Had to attach a different neck joint to the base of the neck because the stock one didn't fit. I attached the new one with epoxy. Took off the excess with a fine knife. Slight touch nicked some of his neck paint off. Luckily you can't see it because of his clothes.

Ah I ordered some cold cathode tubes. I'm gonna cast some lightsaber molds and try my hand at making a light up blade. Never done it before but I'm always willing to try new things.

That's a great attitude SA! I don't have many practical skills like that but I like to do the odd bit of kit bashing.

I permanently buried the head under the SSC Luke X-Wing helmet and it looks great - and I don't need to touch the face while posing the head.

What's weird is that I laughed at the metallic sheen the hair has on the knockoff head - then I got my HT ANH Luke... and he has metallic hair too. Joke was on me.:rotfl

I was looking at the prices of the DX07 tonight. They're unbelievable. Has this peaked? Surely it can't go higher?

$600 normal seems to be the average, $750 plus for the exclusive, shipped.

Damn. $150 just to have the Vader helmet accessory then?

I got mine for about $500 a couple of months ago, regular version. $500, slightly give or take, is the most I would go on this set. It's a beautiful set, but I just can't fathom paying anything well above $500 1/6 related.

I bought this from Pixeltwin a couple years ago, it's half of his set (the lightsaber on his belt is SS). I think it still compares well to HT's new offerings.

Ah ha! I had forgotten who I sold mine to. He looks happy at your house... Prolly doesn't even remember me. :monkey2

Nice photo Kamandi. I'm starting to agree with Pixelpiper that this set was a kind of high point for HT - not just with the overall package but with things like the paint job and sculpts.

Nice photos, Kamandi and pixle. :clap

I see you guys are also missing at least one of the adjustment holes on the thigh strap of your belts though. The belt on my clean figure is intact, but the one on my BD figure is missing one of the adjustment holes on the thigh strap.

I agree though that this set is one of a kind.

This is the old Sideshow figure with the Hoth Luke head, on a knock off true type body. Not sure if I'm that keen, but certainly a improvement on the original sideshow one [emoji33]

It's so sad when twins are separated at birth but it looks like they are adjusting well to their new families. LOL

I don't like the hatless Sideshow Hoth Luke so I decided to do something with the hair, because I think the shape of it is closer in some ways to Luke's ESB hair than the DX07 normal hair. After ripping it off the head I carved out a load of the plastic and tried it on the DX07 heads. Still needs more work, but I think it looks quite good. The hair is less well sculpted than HT hair - shallower - so I might try and add some detail to it with a knife than repaint it (the SS paint is quite flat).

Sithblade, did you dye the body warmer thing on the Hoth Luke figure?
Yes rit tan dye I think, cost £5 and used half the pack. Mixed dye powder with hot water and dunked it in for 10 minutes then let it dry.

Looks great - could you let me know where you got it from? I'd like to use exactly the same thing.
