". Seeing that the final design is yet to confirm pending approval and modification, pictures of the figures could not be disclosed. Still, Howard hopes the figure would be ready to order in next few months and be launched the soonest in first quarter next year."

It's just so comical to me to see Hot Toys just making all this stuff, and people CAN'T get enough. They are astounded by the price, but keep paying it.

I seriously believe Hot Toys could put their logo on a box of poop, and sell 2,000 of them. As long as it looked and smelled like poop, and had the Hot Toys logo on the box. It would sell. Alter Ego and Big Bad Toy Store would put pre-orders up in seconds, Cool Toy Review would have an affiliate link up 60 seconds after that. Sideshow would be Facebookin' it up. "Hot Toys Fans, the new pre-order for Hot Toys poop is now open. Scoop up yours today!!"

The point is it's not poop. ;)

Unlike any other film figures introduced by HOT TOYS, Star Wars figures do not have a problem of timeliness as the movie is the Classic of all sci-fi films. “I believe that slow works yields fine products, so I plan to produce one design every year. So far, I have neither a plan for other series, nor an idea of next character for the DX series. All I wish is to produce an authentic Star Wars figure that has a taste of the 80s.” said Howard.

He is saying that its a business decision on his part since star wars already is popular he see's no need to rush to make them. In stead he can focus on the newer licences since the are whats hot in the public eye. I can speak to that got introduced to Hot toys through there iron man line never seen anything that good before and to be frank I just spent some time looking at the older side show show figures its like night and day.

According to the interview, this look like a 2-pack release. Saves me the trouble to look for an additional base body.

This is not true...If the sculpt and the character rocks then, yes it will sell (ie Batman, Joker, Jack Sparrow, Iron Man, Captain America, Reeve Superman)...However, if the initial sculpt is off or its really a unwanted character it will sit (ie. New Goblin, Indiana Jones, Resident Evil Alice)...Also, price does effect the sell as well (ie. Sucker Punch girls)...

Now if your just hating then well, your full of poop...:pfft:

I just hope there is an extra gun belt and accessories, I dont want to spend additional money to acquire one off evilbay...but I will try to go through ToyAnxiety first.

For that kind of green, I would expect them to do nothing less than two complete figures, belt, accessories, and all. That way, you're getting 2 full figures, with deluxe bases for each. And it's funny, but I find the idea of only one SW figure a year from HT to be a relief. I swore I wasn't going to get this one if the price was too high, but if I'm not trying to budget for multiple HT SW figs in a year AND I'm getting two full figures, it's become a little more appealing. Then again, I dunno... with their ever increasing price points, HT is right at that price ceiling where even the faithful collectors are gonna get edged out.

What is the advantage of having two separate figures, one battle damaged and one not, in the same box for double the price? If one was bespin and one was tattooine it would make more sense to me. Maybe I'll buddy up with someone, and split it, I guess whoever gets the box pays more.

I'm super stoked about the fig though, one a year seems a little lean, I'm going to need to buy figures more often than that to really keep my interest, and thanks to hot toys, I'm completely put off by any human figs not made by them.

Im personally fine with 1 SW a year since theres been just WAY TOO MUCH stuff being announced by HT lately that I have pre-ordered or have interest in pre-ordering. HT needs to slow down a bit and give the collectors some breathing time.

If your going to collect everything that hot toys makes, then may god have mercy on your wallet. :monkey3

To each his own though :peace Star Wars is the only franchise that I'm crazy about. In fact if it weren't for Star Wars I probably wouldn't even know what a hot toy was.

I do have to say, I love Sweeney Todd, so I may just eat my own words.

I dont collect every single HT release. Only the ones that interest me. I dont need 15 different Iron Mans or Batman/Jokers.

Didn't Frank say 3-4 figures a year?

I dunno how this got misquoted by so many people - pretty sure if you go back and re-read the original quote, the gist of it was that HT would be making SW figures over the next 3-4 years, not 3-4 per year. And now that we know they're planning one a year, look for only the most iconic characters you can think of. Bummer, I still think HT was the best hope for a killer 1/6 slave Leia, but I won't hold my breath now. I still think we may have a fair shot at ROTS Anakin, ESB Han, ESB Leia, and (hopefully) Chewbacca.

One a year? That could make the wait for certain figures interesting and long.:impatient:

Yeah, and in the meantime, we'll just have to make do with the environments, vehicles, creatures, and literally dozens upon dozens of 1/6 SW figures that SSC will be churning out (you know, piddling little trifles like 1/6 Taun Tauns - and likely the Luke and Han figures that would go with them, Landspeeder, bounty hunters, Snowtroopers, e-web cannon, and droids of every shape and stripe). How will we get by? :wink1:

Yeah, but even if you collect just one version of the characters that interest you the most, HT has acquired so many great licenses and is cranking out such an amazing amount of awesome (and pricey) figures within a relatively short period of time that it's overwhelming. And if you don't pick these up when they're available at retail, the price jumps on the secondary market . So collectors scramble to get the figures they really want and plus others that they might want, lest they pass on a figure that later on they decide they really, really want but which is now prohibitively expensive on the secondary market.

I for one am refreshed by HTs restraint in their approach to SW, and it sounds like the attention to detail will be high, even by Ht standards - admirable.
