Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Just bought more DX parts from ebay for use with the casual Bruce.
I now have 'calm' sculpt, 4 hands and nunchucks.
I'm done. Thats enough to make a 'DX casual Bruce' :D
Sweet!

I don't understand how it would cost me $14.21 to ship to N. Cali. It can't be only $3.30 extra to ship across the entire country, can it?:dunno. I'm even thinking about doing the pack-out thing. It seems like all of my packages get smashed up before they arrive. I don't thnk I can take the chance with just the brown shipper. It's ridiculous that Sideshow doesn't double box them anyway. I've actually had them replace two boxes for me in the past. You would think they would save themselves the hassle and properly pack the items. Plus it cost me $17.21 in taxes.:gah:

I really wish AE had all of the Sideshow exclusives. They double box my items and ship across the country for normally about $15.

Not a single Aussie or European on this thread feels an ounce of pity for your plight :lol

Okay?:dunno. Luckily I wasn't addressing you guys anyway. Although you are concerned with their packing, right? But seriously, $3.30 more to cross the entire country.:cuckoo: "Why would a Wookie, an 8 foot tall Wookie, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of 2 foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense!"

Seriously can't wait for this, just waiting for them to charge my credit card.

Yeah, I'm certainly concerned with their packing, just making a light-hearted point that Aussies and Yoopeans always pay out of their arses for shipping, and the Brits in particular have to pay outrageous duties - your $17.21 puts you at the back of the whiners queue :peace

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I consider myself extremly lucky if i ever find someone shipping a standard Hot Toys figure for under 50-60$ which is normal for me...Plus custom fees etc.

I paid 95$ shipping for my DX04 from toys2.

Whoa, that's hefty, front of the whiners queue for you! :lol

Seriously though, I think Canada's postal services are pretty expensive, more so than the US equivalents. Sadly that's why I never buy from them - prices and products great, Canada shipping fees not so great :(

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Yeah so ive heard, but from my experience Hong Kong retailers(ABC-Express mostly),Sideshow and toys 2 are about the same in shipping, always around 50-60$,i guess the big box and stand for DX04 was the exception this time.

Man I feel really bad for you guys. I wonder if there is some way around that. Is that just how it is? Could an American be an intermediary to lower the cost? I know shipping UPS and FEDEX is really high outside of the country but the USPS is better.

When you've never known the awesomeness of living in America and having access to relatively cheap figures, cheap postage and all those sellers who only ship within the US... then I guess it's just something you factor into your collecting budget.

At the moment the Aussie dollar is worth more than the US dollar, so I feel like I've hit the jackpot in not paying an extra 20-odd percent on top of the US MSRP to begin with.

Seeing EB's GoD Bruce for $330 shipped to Oz but $350 shipped to the States gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling even though I'm passing on that figure. And DX04 is going to set me back US$245 shipped from SSC, or AUS$235. This exchange rate won't last forever, but I'm hoping to milk it for as long as I can :)

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Fedex is not so bad,but UPS and DHL is...Hope i will never have to use them again. The custom fees they charge is outrageous, about half the price of the value of the item which is probably the reason few uses them anymore.

Most of the time i ask the seller to declare a lower value because of the fees so that helps alot, never do that with fragile or heavy things like statues though.

I thought it was the destination country that set the customs fees? UPS is cheaper than FedEx to ship to Oz. Man, sucks to be a European collector, sorry bro.

I'm guessing you didn't get the exclusive, right? Otherwise you would have paid less than me.

Now I'm pissed!!! You mean to tell me I'm paying more and I'm only a few hundred miles away from them. Wow, and you had the nerve to tell me I'm in the back of the whiners list. I guess us California collectors have absolutley no pity for you!!!

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I thought it was the destination country that set the customs fees? UPS is cheaper than FedEx to ship to Oz. Man, sucks to be a European collector, sorry bro.

Obviously not in this country,i always got a higher percentage of the value of the goods from DHL than i ever got from Fedex or the standard postal service in this country(USPS).

I remember i bought 2 Rocky HT figures on sale from the official MGM store and they cost me 50$ each,so 100$ plus shipping which was another 40$ or so.A few weeks after arrival of the figures DHL sent me a bill which was 70$ which was the first time.As a big Rocky fan ive bought a few things from them after that like T shirts, and smaller cheap stuff, same story there too,and this was orders worth like 40-50$.

Fedex is good,i pay 30-40$ fees for sideshow items worth 200$ plus shipping.
