Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I actually think that's a fair representation of most of the Joker fans. :dunno

It's not and was never intended to be though. And I think that HT believes padding the release with a bunch of accessories will hide all the blatant inaccuracies. When one compares Indy to other HT releases, prices aside, all the technical inaccuracies should be unaccetpable at even the lowest of HT prices. The likeness is close but no cigar. The hat is completely wrong. The belt and holster are also wrong, in color too. The pants look like jeans (no pleats) and the boots look like this is Indy's first dig. Sideshow got more right at $90.

Ok, I understand the several inaccuracies, but I was referring more to the sculpt. Some say it looks like A___on Kutcher and I think that's just going too far. I agree it is too expensive for what they are offering. Bruce is basically 2 full figures and is cheaper. The way it is right now, it should be around $170. My guess is that since it is a borrowed licence, they are charging more. Sucks for Indy fans.

That's why I say that this Bruce EX is the best deal we can get on any figure. For me, it would be he second best deal I have gotten. I got an Enterbay Kato for $100 shipped. one of the box flaps had a minor tear and it was missing the stand.

What, I cant put s h t for someones name?

When I saw the Indy HS for the first time I thought there was someone else lurking in the likeness, and it came to me that it was Ash.ton Kutcher (it's in the brow). Then I read others making the same observation. So it does have something of Ash going on there. But nobody is saying it is more Kutcher than Ford, just that it's not 100% Ford.

I feel sorry for the Indy fans, this is a huge figure and the pressure is really on HT and Kim to nail it.

But as for Bruce, I agree that the Ex edition in particular makes this set great value. It'd be a decent buy without half the kit they've loaded into this. To have this baby coming in the next couple of months, and then to have an announcement on the next HT Bruce figure... I'm happy as a pig in Kutcher.

I see the Sideshow website has quietly updated the Enter the Dragon estimated shipping date to April 2011 !

Yessss!!!......

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I hope we get another bone before then, but I doubt it. An updated pic or two would make the wait between here and April a lot easier.

^^True. Im hoping HT sorted everything out. I hope its better than the EB one so ill feel better about not being able to get it.

The 300 bucks plus shipping is enough to make me feel better about not getting that figure :)

I know what you mean about wanting it to be better than the EB one, but I'll go out on a limb and say that EB's will likely be a 'classier' figure. I am guessing that their diorama will be have a better quality feel about it, the rubber body will be better sculpted and have a more convincing skin texture, and that the HS will be better (ie EB eyeball system > PERS and more accurate likeness) ...and add a EB3.5 and you have two Bruce figs for around 340 + shipping.

This sounds pretty good if it does in fact pan out that way. But for me personally, little of all of that matters to me because the HT ETD figure will fit in better with my collection.

Don't feel bummed about not shelling out for EB's GoD. You'll get over it as soon as you open up your DX. And if that isn't enough, it surely will be when HT announce their GoD for a fraction of the price.

True dat man :rock. I must say i like the Enterbay GoD dio a lot but i think HTs one will look good too. I cant wait to see the box.

Except for the fact that EB's figure quality doesn't match up to HT's when you have them both in-hand. I have a hard time believing that their rubber quality will be any better than HT's when they can't even produce a good body that can actually be posed without the fear of breaking. Not to mention paint apps...

That's my biggest issue... their prices are often higher, but the quality doesn't back it.

I do agree that the stuff they do with their extras can be pretty nice.

Yeh, in saying all that I was making the assumption that they'd get everything right - and EB haven't been doing too much of late to convince collectors that they will get everything right.

After initially feeling that I had a hard choice to make - because I can't afford both - I've felt for some time now that EB's is an easy pass. HT will give us better tailoring, better paint, choice of costumes (sorry, but BD + non-BD outfit doesn't cut it for me as 'two outfits') and better QC.

If that HS is tweaked as is expected, I can't see how anyone could fault it. It's set to be a landmark figure.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

April?!! Now I have no doubt Arnie went to the rescue, in my opinion. I could be very wrong and there might be other reasons why it has been delayed so much.

I too was planning on getting the Enterbay one, until Hot Toys came into the picture. I feel Enterbay will deliver a good figure, but Hot Toys as well.

Hot Toys and Enterbay should show the figures already, as I too think it will make the wait easier.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

My only hesitation is whether or not Hot Toys will do a Game of Death figure.

The EB one looks good but I don't want the movie set accessories and its price is high.

From Arnie's Kim's released pic it looks like they're doing a Way of the Dragon figure but they're planned 3rd one could be Fist of Fury, or Big Boss.

I'm happy with my 1/4 Enter the Dragon statue and don't want more EtD stuff ....but the Hot Toys Ex. figure is such good value, tempted anyway.......but the battle damaged head sculpt is so limiting. Those claw marks are on his face for the last 5 minutes of the movie and so you can't really use that head for anything else.....

Decisions, decisions LOL !

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I believe HT WILL make the GOD Bruce, I just know it...

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

Seeing how Hot Toys only has the Bruce Lee license for one year, why aren't they pumping out more proto for Bruce for the other movies? Isn't it a waste of money to release just one?
Don't tell me they will renew and release a new proto every year on Bruce's birthday.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

When are they going to release a new images of the updated figure? The wait is killing me.

They'll release more but it makes good marketing sense to wait for this one to splash before casting another line.

:lecture:lecture:lecture Last thing they'd want is everybody canceling this one to order the next. Best to let this ship first and then announce the new one a couple months afterward.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

They already showed teasers of the next figs. One looks to be a smiling WotD and in the background, what was supposed to be the Enterbay GoD. I know because I was following Arnie's blog before his switch to Hot Toys. The smiling sculpt had no hair, so it was thought both heads were for the GoD.

The thing is, some say they look to be 1/4 scale, but nothing is being detailed yet.

The pictures were shown right after Enterbay showed their smiling sculpt.

Wasn't it Arnie or Milk who stated those were for a 1:4 WotD bust?
