Yep, that's exactly what inspired me to make one. Well that and the BTAS/Neal Adams/Aparo black, blue, gray and bat oval is my favorite look.

I had both of those. Never had a Nicholson Joker though, I don't think.

I had the movie Joker Nova's describing, which had no Nicholson resemblance, and then later there was a Joker with a head kind of Nicholson like but then the colors of his costume and the design weren't that much like the movie's, you couldn't win.

That's part of the joy of these figures, even as a kid I wanted figures that looked like the guys in the movies, but there was so much creative license used with kids toys, still is, so only now, through Hot Toys, can I get what I've always wanted.

which one do you want more lol, as much as I loved my HT Bats Begins before I parted with it, this is a no brainer for me, I grew up on the Awest stuff, and became a Batman lifer when the 89 movie came out, I still remember my aunts and uncles taking me to go watch it sense they knew I loved Batman so much. In the end if you had to decidebe between one or the other go with the fan factor, not the instant want...Memories are priceless.

If l was the director the first time l heard Bale do that deep vioce l would of said "Okay don't do that again". I just can't take him seriously as Batman when l am trying not to laugh.

If Nolan didn't want that voice, he would have said so. They even manipulated it for TDK.

There were only a couple times I didn't like it, but it had more to do with the dialogue than the actual voice. Other than that, I thought it was great.

Not so different to 'The Animated Series'.

Here's a higher quality one. I'd buy it if they repainted it like that like Coco suggested.

I remember that Joker, his face turned orange when you put it under water. And I believe his clothes were more pink than purple.

I always hated the weird variations when I was a kid, too. I just wanted the plain one that didn't have any weird spring loaded action feature or some crazy costume. The Total Justice line, aside from the extreme poses they came in, was awesome because you had sculpts that were faithful to the comics with the option of adding the goofy armor.

The Animated Series Batman voice is nowhere near Bale's Batman voice. It wasn't too bad in Begins, and I thought it worked very well, but in TDK it was just taken too far. In many scenes he's pouring it on so thick he can't even spit out a complete sentence before he runs out of breath. At least in Begins he could hold a conversation while still disguising his voice.

Oh the memories...these two were my favorites as a kid. The knock out joker was stolen from me. And all these years later my best friend gifted me with knock out joker and I was like a little kid again! and now with HT doing this line I'm a kid all over again

Make it look like boxers instead of briefs (like the old toy) and I don't think it will look too bad.

I agree with your last paragraph completely. I'm pretty sure the reason I passed on that Joker, even though I was a youngster, was because the likeness was so bad. I still bought fat faced Batman, but I could excuse the bad likeness since, y'know, he was Batman and all.

Ah yes, Toy Biz's brief run on the DCU. After those Batman figures they seemed to resort to bloated Super Powers molds. I remember Green Lantern shot water out of his ring, and Flash had some obnoxious winding mechanism poking out of his side to make him run. And Lex Luthor punched himself in the face. That one was an original sculpt, I think

l just didn't like the voice one bit. I liked the way Keaton did the bat voice, a nice soft voice. like in the 89 movie when he was talking to the blond chick (don't remember he name off the top of my head) in the bat cave giving her the evidence about the joker, he had a really soft voice when mixed with the bat suit was a great combination that just added to the mysteriousness of the Batman character, instead of the over the top roar that bale was always doing.

I told my brother the other day they are making another Bat movie. He asked if Bale was Batman again, l said "yeah", and the first thing he said was "l can't stand the Batman vioce that guy does".
