While it is likely Batman will be the or one of the DX figures, that shows DX and MMS logos, so there's no telling which figures from Returns will be DX or MMS.

Aren't almost all DX figures also MMS?

No, it's two separate product lines. They're both 1:6 figures, but the figure is either DX or MMS, they're not labelled as both.

Here's the DX Jack Sparrow box, just uses the DX logo.

What??? I was making fun of offensive humor. If you don't find that relevant and funny, than you have no sense of humor sir...

Two wrongs do not make it right. That image and what it stands for is very offensive and has no place here.

A "DX" is still considered part of their MMS line. For film characters. "DX" for Micon line

And if they ever do a DX in a Video Game line it would fall under their "Video Game Masterpiece" line.

The "DX" is more of a sub-genre, or the MMS is the sub-genre but either way the Batman Returns figures WILL be DXs.

That's Hot Toys's marketing images, which they screw up, the Batman '89 poster just had MMS and then both figures were DX.

Whatever they do or don't do in their ads, which is inconsistent and at times inaccurrate, when the figure comes out, it's labelled just as a DX, which is why it has it's own numbering system and started over at 1.

But they have a different "listing system." For Example DX 09 is not also MMS 162 or whatever. So they might as well be considered separate.

Yeah the DX's have their own numbering system, so...what? :dunno

Doesnt change the fact that the Returns Batman will be a DX. DX or not, they are going to be "MOVIE MASTERPIECES"

But hey, if you guys want to think of them as not MMS and only DX, more power to you? :lol:lol:lol

They're completely different product lines though, MMS = Painted Eyes, DX = PERS. Some of the other DX traits spill over into the MMS figures like accessory quantity and elaborate bases, but so far, you don't get PERS unless it's in the DX line.

They're all 1/6 Hot Toys figures, but what you can expect in the box, and even the boxes themselves, differ between MMS figures and DX figures, which is why they're seen as 2 separate lines. MMS and DX are marketing and catalog terms, a figure is only one of the other if HT chooses for it to fall in that category, a figure isn't MMS just because HT manufactures it.

They are separate. Yes. I acknowledge that. What you arent acknowledging is that the DX can consist of MMS, MICON, or even (yet to be done, but Im sure will eventually) a Video Game Masterpiece. And each would fall under their own respectful "banner". Obviously HT looks at it this way since they go through the trouble of advertising and putting the MMS logo on the ad. As they have done with several of their past DX announcements. Even when they announced their Superman it had both the DX and MMS release.

Maybe the reason they put it on their is because they dont know which it will fall under right away? :dunno

But for the most part, when they show the DX logo, you should expect them to be DX.

Either way, I guess its one of those "agree to disagree" about the perception of how you see HT's lines.

I see the DX as a Sub-genre to the existing series they have now since they put the MMS/MICON etc on the announcement along with the DX, You dont.

End of Story.

It's MMS DX.

Movie Masterpiece DX,

Or at least it was until "Bad" MJ was released which was from the music icons line.

Exactly. MMS is their movie figures. DX can be any HT figure, so once they realized the DX line was a success and decided to apply it to the likes of MJ and Bruce Lee, it became it's own thing.

It may have started as a type of MMS figure but that's not what it is now and not how I see it.

The size and cut of the cape, the cape material, the sculpt of the cowl? There's been a few things wrong with HT Batman figures consistently that all turned out right on this one.

I think all of them except MJ are MMS DX figures though, then again you can never be sure with Hot Toys.

This is straight from the horse's mouth,

The head. It's exactly how wide a human head should be. I remember looking at this a long time ago just to see. If you copy a section of a photo of the same persons head and line it up next to their head, both heads either side of the middle will be just beyond their shoulders. Or just a bit more.

If you done that with the DX02 you could get a head and a half before you're at the edge of the shoulder. The give away is if the chest is smaller than the head the scale is right but sadly the original suit and DX02's chest was always miles larger than the head. A bit like Beetlejuice. It's not really obviously until you see the figure from a distance like those two photos. It really looks like Keaton shrunk down with perfect blueprints. No guesstimates.

What bugs me the most now with previous Batman figures, Hot Toys could have done this right the first time. It bugs me how Hot Toys figures are starting to feel like poorly programmed games and shoddy software at times. Version whatever. It's not until years later you can really have a good look at all this now.
