I can't believe it took you so long to get a DSLR
Showed these pics to a couple of friends today at work. They thought it was a guy in a suit
On the downside they now think I'm weird for collecting dolls
Yeah, I'm usually like a kid at Christmas just diving in and taking everything out, but I took a moment to take in the quality.
Since I was a kid I wanted a Keaton Batman figure that looked like him in the movie.
Is everyone taking the paper out from under the belt?
Yes. That gets removed.
The real question is how many people will still have this a year or two from now and don't just trade him in for the next big thing. When you read some comments, people seem swept up in the production quality more than having feelings about the movie and character, I saw the same with Jack, it seems like a trend is forming where people collect the product type and buy nice pieces within it, almost like a status symbol so they can be a part of the crowd with THE best.
Mine arrived just now and damn if UPS didn't beat the crap out of the shipper. Almost afraid to see the HT's box. Wish SSC's would have double boxed it.
That's happening with a lot of collectibles with a lot of people.
For me, this character is very close at heart. I was 6 when my father brought me to the theatre to see the 1989 Batman movie. I got the VHS and watched it like a hundred times. My parents, that year, at christmas bought me a ton of batman toys and even a lifesize Batman cardboard cutout.
For me, Keaton is the original Batman, Reeves the Superman and Darth Vader wasn't a whiny brat.
