There was a great black and yellow Batman free-standing that I had that went with that Joker but was more 1989 but I can't see to google a pic.

It wasn't these was it?

Not to get too off topic, but keeping with the last few posts... I had a Batman toy gun that kind of resembled the shape of the speargun, only it shot golden spinning discs with bat logos on them. I believe it was from the Batman Returns toy line, but I could be wrong. I can't find any photos of it anywhere. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I don't remember if it was from the movie line but does anyone else remember a Batman that batarang with line attached came off his belt?

Yes, this is the one.

I bugged me that the only part of his belt that was accurrate was the boomerang part at the end of the line, when you pulled it out, the beld behind is just plain.

I didn't have that one, but I had a belt and grapple gun kid that came with a clip on bat logo, the gun shot red darts instead of grapples, I loved that thing.

Found this photo, forgot it had a batarang too that I tied rope too and the gauntlets.

Yeah,... it sort of sounds like you are describing the Batman toy gun that kind of resembled the shape of the speargun, only it shot golden spinning discs with bat logos on them... maybe from the Batman Returns toy line?

Continued my investigation with the leg problem with the 89 Batman...the left leg is longer than the right one by about a quarter of an inch. I checked inside the boots to make sure the foot pegs were fully seated & the same size (check), boots equal size (check), bent the legs at the knees to make sure it wasn't the lower legs (check, same length) and felt the hip area for any gaps (check). The problem seem to be the left thigh...not sure if it's not fully seated in the hip socket or just a weird length. As much as I hate to do it, I have to contact SS for a replacement. Shouldn't have to live with this at the premium price paid for the figure.

No problem. I never see them online. I have one MOC and man is it beat to hell.

Love all the vintage pics guys :clap

I really loved the hell out of the 1989 Batman movie as a kid. I must have watched the VHS every single day. When I finally got to see Batman Returns my parents were kind of disturbed lol. While they didn't go out of their way to say I wasn't allowed to watch it again, they didn't buy the VHS of it either no matter how much I begged for it.

Batman was the first movie to hit VHS only 6 months after release, I think it was Thanksgiving -- an unheard move that changed everything as far as release patterns in the US (typically the video release was a year after theatrical).

I was one of -- well, maybe the only at my local video store -- who went and got my copy at midnight. Had to take a picture with a Batman standee too. :lol

Do you remember the price.

Hey guys how is it going, this is my first hot toys figures ever, and nothing better to start if off with the Batman from the 1989 movie. This figure just defined my childhood. The detail is inmense, well enough said, here are the pics of my figure, i have a friend from HK who bought it directly from the Hot Toys store and it came with the batman logo bag ^__^

Had to cut the holes on the cape to fit the rods to hold it up!

With the grappling gun:

Ready to leave the Flugenheim
(this accessory came broken the spring holding the spears together came loose, and it took me about 30min to set in place... I thought it was completely broken, luckily it was a quick fix)

Ready to fight the joker...

When I took this photo I did not know you could bend the lining on the cape to make it more narrow, but here's a pic, of this awesome Batman, I can't wait for the batman returns figures my favorite movie of all time:

One complaint is the durability of the rubber suit, it must have been day two and I noticed a slight wear close to the abs, good thing is black rubber, nothing a quick shoe polish couldn't fix.

I checked my boots and the lenght is the same.

I remember my mom bought me Batman on VHS on release day. I went to get in the car and when I opened the door it was sitting in my seat. I remember that like it was yesterday.

I finally got the damn cape tamed on this guy. Got him in a fists up, ready to tumble pose next to Superman. Really awesome figure. The whole room smells like him though. He had a very strong smell out of the box, lol.
