Not directed at you, Marf, the 'late Feb' thing was being thrown around as soon as the split shipment news became a reality.

Since Bats got here the beginning of Feb and the boats are a month apart, not sure how anyone ever thought the 2nd load could get here by end of Feb. But hope floats eternal.

Im going to guess Bats will start shipping in a week or two. We won't see Joker until the end of March, early April.

So I just spoke with Marc at Alter Ego. I wanted to pay for my Bespin Luke so I thought I'd ask him about Batman too. He said that although this next shipment is intended for retailers it could also be split. So it's possible that the retailer supply could come in multiple waves. FYI... He also said that he does not know that as a fact but it's possible. Just thought I’d let everyone know just in case that is what happens.

VERY likely with this figure. I know BBTS has more than 700 preorders for this figure alone. What are the chances that all those orders are on the next boat along with all other retailer's orders? Slim.

Yep, I'm expecting this trend to continue...which sucks, because I really like ordering through CSC

This is obviously being done to monopolize the market... We all know this but there's little that can be done. Sure, if HT's warehouse is full of figures they'll want to ship them all out ASAP, but if a partial shipment is ready to roll then why not send them to SS so they can take care of their direct customers? The crappy thing is that there's nothing we can do about it. Really, imagine if you called SS and complained: "Yes, I'm a little upset that partial shipments come in from Hot Toys and none of those units are going to other retailers. What can you do to stop this from happening?" Their answer: "Order from us and you won't have that issue."

And I would imagine the retailers themselves aren't exactly staying quiet. This stunt is undoubtedly costing them business, and if I were an owner, I wouldn't take it lying down. But who knows...

So when I ask AE to split up my Bats and Joker I could expect Batman by mid March or a little later? I can live with that. It's not like I really have a choice either though

Anyway, I read on this forum a while back that certain retailers are more apt to get shipments of figures before other retailers. Is this true? I thought it was said that CSC and AE were two of them.

CSC is close to SS so they got there first. Not so much anymore.

yep....SS is the distributor so they can do as they please. This is the order that I've seen in the past as to who get's theirs first from SS.

1. CSC
2. AE
3. BBTS
4. Everyone else(retailers)
