Having started collecting Hot Toys figures in June I picked this one up off ebay last week and can't stop looking at it! T2 remains my favourite action movie of all time so I just had to have it. I can't imagine ever loving a figure more than this one but the LED eye is bothering me somewhat.

Every time I switch it on the eye it starts nice and bright but fades within minutes so its barely visible in a my detolf. Can anyone who's had the figure a while confirm if this this supposed to happen? I've even changed the batteries and still the same.

Not sure about that...honestly I don't keep the batteries in my figures.

But I totally agree that this is an amazing figure. I think it is one of HT best to date and I'm glad you were able to pick it up.

I only planned to buy a couple of figures but have ended up getting seven in a little under three months with five more waiting on pre-order :lol

Is it risky keeping the batteries in him? I just love how it looks with the eye lit up red. When it's off or faded kinda looks like he's dead waiting for that 'alternate power' to kick in.

The detail of both head sculpts blows me away so I put the less damaged head from this on my DX10. Not movie accurate but the clean sculpt it came with just looks bad when I stand it next to the DX13.

Thank you buddy. I spliced a muscular body and managed to fit the arm in the circle. It still has rotation as well.

I finally managed to finish the weathering and can safely say just like the DX10, it makes a world of difference! I strongly implore to get all your T2 figures weathered, it's such a transformative look!

Thanks P.! I used those reference pics for the highest accuracy, I'm surprised even the belt is dirtied up.

I guess you can do it very slowly, taking one outfit at a time and write a log like I did on what goes where, that way there's consistency between each figure.

Sure, what I did was to drybrush the outfit(s) with acrylic, no need any water and use an old paintbrush. The secret to great weathering is to use various colors, since only one would look pretty fake. Here are the colors I used:

1) Grey mixed with some white brushed on with a wide brush to remove the "shine" from the outfit.
2) Yellow Ochre for the seams, especially on the collar and shoulders. Also use this one the sleeves, as they are quite yellowish.
3) White around the edges of the pockets or anywhere you see fit.
4) Burnt umber to finish off the look, giving it heavy dirt and a rustic appearance, especially on the DX13 less so on the DX10.

Overall, I wouldn't worry about mistakes, since it's easy to wipe off and try to not overdo it, as you could always add more. Just go slowly and it's really hard to mess up. The only word of caution I can give is to watch out for the studs, as they come off pretty easily.
