They'll do Catwoman and Penguin eventually. If some obscure release like John Matrix is possible, the Returns villains seem highly likely.

Makes me wonder though, what the hell is taking so long? Why John fricken' Matrix before say Ripley, or Returns Batman, or Kyle Reese etc. etc. I know "hey, It's Arnold" just like their Depp figures "hey it's Depp", but it's so weird.

What's going on with Guardians of the Galaxy Drax?

can't believe they released Matrix, never would have thought and considered buying a custom recently

I'm not sure if it's confusion or getting the easier figures out more quickly
No doubt batman would outsell matrix

That and it's a cheap, quick figure to produce from existing sculpts and bodies with a simple costume.

The sculpt is new and HT finally nailed Arnold's likeness.

As much as I'm dying to see this released I smile when HT releases figures from franchises that aren't comic book related.

The fact that they're teasing it for tomorrow makes me wonder if they aren't going to amp up their game before the end of the year. I've not seen a teaser like that since SDCC and we got a whole load of stuff, then. I just want to see Returns Batman and the Star Wars figures (I'm not a huge Star Wars guy, but dammit of that Teaser hasn't got me curious to see how these turned out).

For as long as it's taken them with this Batman Returns BS, they better be good. That's all I'm saying.

If all they have to show for this line is a single Batman figure with a base and weapons (pretty much what we've seen at all the shows, except with accessories), then man, that would be idiotic. I honestly don't know what to expect from them at this point. Will it be a simple, half assed, barebones figure? A one and done? Or will it be this committed, super ambitious release with all the goods people want (and other characters)? I figure if it was the former, they would have released it by now just to shut everyone up and move on.

I'm really hoping you're right. I'd love to see their take on Penguin and Catwoman. Makes me wonder which version they'd choose for Penguin, though, if ever they did him.

Curious as to what this would do to the Batman 1989 price - up or down? I'm thinking of getting another for 'extreme poses' but don't know whether to strike now or wait in case this is announced.

Considering it's a different suit from a different movie, I don't think it would have any bearing on the price.

Unless they make an '89 Batman 2.0 or some armory vault version, I suspect the DX 09 will always go for major bucks.

Thanks. I just thought the BR was close enough to the 1989 suit (please don't kill me for saying that) that it would make the '89 cheaper.

I don't believe it's going to happen. There's nothing in this character to attract oriental buyers. He's not Depp, Arnie, a robot or from the Nolanverse. We know Catwoman and Penguin aren't happening because Howard as good as said so.

Not random at all. John Matrix won the "By the People" (like people's choice) poll for the next Arnie figure 2 years ago.

Batman Returns however, was teased almost 3 years ago now, so...
