I don't know, I felt that scene kinda sucked when i was a kid because after that I couldn't even pretend his mask wasn't rubber. In the comics he can pull it off and on like a weird hoodie or something, but he basically just ruined the suit to get some face time with Catwoman. Although I can't blame him.

Right before he takes off his mask, that way you're not left with Bruce Wayne having raccoon eyes because of the black makeup normally around the eyes.

I remember back in 1992 how people pointed that out as a massive blooper, hardly a blooper though, would people have preferred he removed the mask and had the raccoon eyes, it'd totally take you out of the moment.

hahahahaha, THAT would have been remembered.

The not having make up around the eyes issue, an understandable decision.

They could have made a mask just for that scene that had really small eye holes.
