So far... Pretty much everything else shown at toy fairs has been released for preorder, but DC products... Even the delorean who people were pessimistic about the preorder, has now been up..

I am beginning to wonder ht just teased us with the prototype To ensure it was being made!

The Arkham City Batman was shown there and is up. The battle damaged Robocop plus the two versions of Ripley haven't been put up for order so it isn't just this. It'll come when it comes.

As a kid Returns was always my favourite Batman film and it was the first time I was ever really fanatical about a film. Think I was about 9 or 10 when it came out. As I got older I realised its very much just a Tim Burton film and I get why a lot of people dislike it. But I was watching it recently when it was shown in tv and I came to the conclusion that the film is really just about Bruce and Selina. I remember Burton saying he wanted to use Catwoman as the villain and the studio wanted Penguin so they just used both, so I get the impression that the stuff with Bruce and Selina is what Burton wanted to focus on and is the film he wanted and the stuff with the Penguin is what he had to put in because it needed some big action scenes etc.

Also, I only then noticed that when Penguin is in the hall of records "looking for his family" he's actually getting the names of the first borns he plans to kill. Can't believe I never noticed that before. :lol

Anyway, I know a lot of people dislike and even hate Returns, but for me it's up there with there with 89. This figure and Catwoman should make an awesome display.

As a kid, Returns was just magical - I had no idea what was going on and like you said about the first born names, I just didn't have a clue until I watched it as an adult. I never recognised any of the sexual innuendo either - and there is tonnes of it - 'French flipper trick'.

I honestly think that Burton and Keaton got the Wayne/Batman dynamic spot on - his awkwardness and sometimes goofy way of acting, especially around Selina when he first meets her, really contrasts with the meanness of his Batman.

This is a really interesting read about the film being anti-Semitic - with the idea that the Penguin is Jewish:

I really wouldn't mind if we got these two:lol

TDKR is second to Batman and Robin for worst Batman film ever. Returns is weird and nasty as hell, but atleast Batman wasn't a puss and was actually in it.

Also Pfeiffer > Hathaway

Returns victorian era sewer freak > Rises victorian era sewer freak

I still don't know why people compare these two franchises. They both are very VERY different take on the Batman character and i think overall they did the Batman character justice. Also, i don't know what movie you were watching but TDKR is far superior than Batman & Robin. It's plainly obvious that certain expectations you may have had for TDKR didn't come to fruition so therefore you resent the movie to the point that any mention of it by anybody on this forum will send you into some sort of frenzy about how much you dislike the movie.

I like TDKR. It was fun to see in IMAX and a decent way to end the trilogy. The biggest issue for me is all the numerous plot holes you are forced to overlook. Nolan was so intent on making this franchise grounded in 'reality' but if you do that you really need to have a little more of an airtight story.

Honestly yeah, I don't get it either. :dunno People did seem to have a ton of expectations for TDKR, but it makes sense after TDK. I can see why TDKR wouldn't reach that, since even excluding TDK and any expectations, TDKR did have some weird flaws. But comparing Nolan's Trilogy to the old films at times, I don't really get. And honestly, why do people keep bringing up Batman and Robin and try to take it seriously? It's awful, in a funny way. It's rumored Schmauer didn't want people to like it or take it seriously.

I said it was second to worst, not the worst. Nobody mentioned it either, and I didn't go into a frenzy.

Lighten up Francis.

That's what I'm saying. I look at Forever/B&R as a futuristic version of the '66 show, hence so many gadgets and gimmicks. The nipples are really the least of it's worries. The best part about them was that they were the "necessary evil" that enabled Nolan to be able to give his take on the franchise. Anyway, nostalgia aside, there's actually plenty of eye-rolling moments during the two Burton films, as well.

Actually it's been said many times that Joel Schumacher wanted to make Batman Forever a dark film... But WB wanted a brighter Batman because of how Returns was reviewed... So I really dont blame Schumacher... I blame WB... Forever still is close to me as that was my first Batman film I saw in theaters...

I'll admit that i thought the film overall sort of felt a bit incomplete in a way. There were certain scenes that i felt were supposed to be longer that were perhaps cut. This probably could've filled in the blanks of some events in the movie but still, it was a good and fitting conclusion to Nolan's Batman story.

wait wait what? Schumacer wanted to make Forever a dark film? I thought it was Burton and Keaton that wanted to continue to go darker and WB said no because they wanted a more kid-friendly movie to sell more toys. Forever actually wasn't all that bad and I think people liked it at the time. It has its bad moments but it kind of gets bundled with Batman and Robin. Anyway, Batman and Robin comes along and they go ever further down the rabbit hole and literally make the movie to just sell toys and it kills the franchise. Schumacher apologizes on the special features and George Clooney keeps a picture on the wall to remind himself never to make a movie to just sell toys.

I DID hear that Schumacher wanted to make Batman Triumphant a lot more darker to make up for what he did before. Personally, I would've loved to see Robin Williams as the Riddler and Billy Dee as Two-face but at least we got Nolan and now all I really want is to see a Batman film that actually does the character justice to the comics. I don't think it will be Affleck because he has to do the justice league dynamic and I've found that a lot of characters get short changed in those team up stories. I don't know why I bothered to type all this.

Yeah, that sucks to hear that Robin Williams wasn't cast as the Riddler only because Carey was the "it" guy during that time. And I still need to find the proposed script to Batman Triumphant as I like the sound of Scarecrow using Toxins to make Bruce believe Joker was still alive and how Harley Quinn would've killed Batgirl in the opening.

The thing about TDKR that bothered was no mention of the joker, I think that is actually disrespectful to not even mention him or his work, contrary to Nolan's belief of not mentioning anything for respect.

I'm anxious to see the release of this fig, the farther the preorder window the more crazy I get.

Loved TDKR, loved Batman Returns both for different reasons.

The Joker was a prisoner in Arkham and escaped along with the other condemns when Bane released all prisoners. This was not on film though. They even made a filmposter with the Joker for TDKR, take a look:
