Freaked Out
It appears the listing has been removed from Sideshow?
The dx15 uses horse hair which is used for dolls (obviously same thing here. Lol) the new Artisan line uses wool from either lambs or another animal with softer hair. It's able to be worked better then horse hair as that tends to be straight and horrible to work with. Plus scale wise it's not accurate.
From another's post about rooted hair a few years back just when Wonder Woman came out from BvS people mentioned the hair being to doll like and someone mentioned because of it being horse hair essentially. But what you mentioned makes more sense on being what is used. Don't know why horse hair was a thing but never questioned it as I didn't care much at the time.Where did you read that it's horse hair? I've never heard of such a thing. Most rooted hair heads use nylon hair. It's essentially very fine strands of plastic. You can style it by heating it up, but it will melt if you get it too hot.

Yeah correct on the custom/ Inart hair being some form of wool.Yeah, I don't have the Wonder Woman figure, but I'm guessing it's nylon hair. Anything that's actually rooted, where you can see the punch holes, that's going to be nylon hair. The new figures, like Gandalf, and the Artisan figures, where it's glued in, that's probably lamb's wool, or yak hair, or whatever else they're using.
Yea the older Wonder Woman figures have that kind of hair but the WB100 Exclusive Wonder Woman has wool hair. It was their first figure to have it and only one that isn't under the artisan bannerYeah, I don't have the Wonder Woman figure, but I'm guessing it's nylon hair. If I go for anything from this set it'll be the smirking sculpt.I won't bog down the thread about the new figures with talk about upgrades to existing, but I came up with my wish list of parts and their priority for me.
- Rudder
- Smirking Face
- Deluxe Base
- Sword
- Belt Furs
- Lantern
Sword is most likely diecast. It doesn’t say in the specs but it didn’t for the previous 2 figures either. If I go for anything from this set it'll be the smirking sculpt.
Is the sword diecast? I'd assume it would be as it was with the first two DX, but wasn't sure if they be cutting corners where they have before.

Surprised you guys wouldn’t also be going for the real leather belts and real leather boots to upgrade your existing ones either.
Yep, the lantern is something I really love -- it feels very Pirates of the Caribbean from the old Disneyland ride. If only it would flicker and play the creepy music at the beginning of the ride.
I'm using the DX06 boots same as Maulfan, and I've weathered then up nicely. I've never had any issue with pleather disintegration in my collection so I'm in no rush to getting the belts. I do need to get a custom leather baldric made for my CotBP Jack yet though.Surprised you guys wouldn’t also be going for the real leather belts and real leather boots to upgrade your existing ones either.

Check ebay, I bought a set of two made from real metal a few years back. They are great.Yep, the lantern is something I really love -- it feels very Pirates of the Caribbean from the old Disneyland ride. If only it would flicker and play the creepy music at the beginning of the ride.
Who got the Artisan?
